Current setup: Vultr $5/mo Debian 8 64, Vitelity SIP trunks, Incredible PBX for Wazo, Cisco SPA303 phones, and Zoiper softphones on smart phones via SIP URIs for voip.ms sub accounts. Making it easier for people to say “I love working with the real estate agents at Buckeye Country Realty! http://www.BuckeyeCountryRealty.com/” (Shameless plug, if you don't mind. :) )

(UPDATE: Workaround: Instead of a ring group, use Boss-Secretary call filter functionality, where the secretaries are the users with the SIP URIs.)

Why doesn't my Wazo line with a custom sip uri ring when it's part of a group?

It rings just fine when an incoming call redirects to its parent user.

It does not ring when an incoming call redirects to a group that includes its parent user. (Incidentally, the group includes regular users & lines, and they ring just fine.)

So, AFAIK, there's nothing wrong with the user or the line, and the problem is directly related to the group. Bug?

FYI, I set up the user and line according to the instructions in my previous post.

Without the Asterisk and SIP log its hard to give you an answer here.

One thing you can do is configure your custom line to call the number from an internal context instead of configuring the SIP uri

Example: if calling 4185551234 and that number can be dialed from you internal users[,] set the interface of your custom line to `Local/4185551234@default`[. C]hange "default" to the name of your internal context

Thank you for the response. Your response is similar to one that was posted in the Wazo forum thread, and I did post log file data there. https://projects.wazo.community/boards/1/topics/10376

Thank you for the suggested workaround: "configure your custom line to call the number from an internal context". That is probably a good workaround for most people, but it will not work in my particular case because there are no DID "number[s to call] from an internal context". All I have are the SIP URIs. (Of course, I could set up DIDs, one for each SIP uri, but I didn't want to do that. Also, I did not want to use the mobile users' existing mobile numbers because I both did not want their mobile phone phone voice mail to pick up and I also did not want them to have to press some number upon picking up to indicate that a real person was picking up (as opposed to voice mail).)

Had you tried setting "Call a member already in line" in the Group -> Edit config. That worked for me
