What is the best path to upgrade to the latest version of PIAF from whichever version I have of PIAF now, which is the version that installed FreePBX 2.9 w/Asterisk 1.8? (Is there a place I can go to see which version of PIAF I have?)I'm almost positive it was PIAF Green from June, 2012.

I have no need to do an in place upgrade, it is a relatively small and simple configuration, but I would like it if I could keep my recordings, trunks, extensions and the user settings for the extensions, etc. Can I backup these items, do a fresh install of PIAF, do all the patches and then restore my configuration from the backup? How is this accomplished? If not, what is the best way to move from the older install to the most recent?

Run status and post the results. Then we can go from there. If you say it's Asterisk 1.8, then it's not PIAF-Green.

Assuming you want to get to PIAF-Green with Asterisk 11 and FreePBX 2.11, the drill goes like this.

On your existing system, use FreePBX's Module Admin to migrate from FreePBX 2.9 to 2.10 to 2.11. Be sure everything still works before proceeding!!

The use Incredible Backup 11 to make yourself a good backup. Also do a full system backup with one of the products such as Clonezilla or Acronis if you plan to reuse the hardware.

Then build the new server with the latest PIAF-Green, Asterisk 11 and FreePBX 2.11. Run Incredible PBX 11. Run Incredible Fax 11 if you're using it now. Then restore your Incredible Backup from Incredible Backup 11.

So I did all of the above and ran incrediblererstore. The extensions make calls fine in my testing so far, but all the extensions except one ran the system unavailable message instead of ringing. I found that simply by going in and pushing the submit button on each extension and then the apply config button in the Free PBX web interface, they started ringing normally.

Another issue I have just discovered, although my conference settings carried over and I can use at least one of the conferences by dialing into it from an outside line or dialing into it by using the outside DID from an internal phone, when I try to dial 2663 from any internal extension I get "call failed." This worked before I upgraded and restored. Where would I look for the reason 2663 no longer works?

Try re-submitting the conference without making any changes to it first.

There are two applications for conferencing - app_meetme and app_confbridge. In Asterisk 11, the default application is app_confbridge. If that doesn't work, delete the conference and re-create it.

ran into the same issue running freepbx 2.9 and asterisk 11, freepbx 2.9 is trying to use meetme, and there is nowhere to set confbridge.

looks like I will be updating to freepbx 2.11 to fix.
