For the past six years, between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, there falls yet another shopping holiday: Small Business Saturday. This year it’s on November 28th. American Express came up with the idea to encourage people across the country to avoid the chaos surrounding the big-box stores and Shop Small® to support their local businesses and community. Last year, $14.3 billion was spent on the initiative- and this year that amount is expected to grow by $200-300 million.
