I think that my main reason for giving back is so that someone else can take over the project and I can move on to other things.

BTW I'm writing a Webmin module to aid in configuring Dahdi. Up to version 0.20. Finished the Dahdi kernel driver loading order section today. Next is scanning for Dahdi devices.

i absolutely agree , and yes it is easy to take and not contribute , but sometimes a company's contribution is just providing a "educational" opportunity for the developers in its team , even if they never release there code , just developing code is enhancing the community by enhancing the overall knowledge base.
