Hi Folks

Just built a shiny new PIAF green/incredible pbx/travellin man3 box to replace my old trixbox unit

All seems to be working fine except inbound calls which do not repond

Here are my trunk inbound settings

type=peer
context=from-trunk
dtmfmode=RFC2833
# port=5060
# insecure=very
# dtmfmode=rfc2833
# disallow=all
# canreinvite=no
allow=ulaw
allowguest=no
alwaysauthreject=yes

These are the same settings as the trixbox
Ports 5060, 10000-20000 have been forwarded to the PIAF server
Router logfiles show that the inbound traffic has been accepted and routed to the PIAF IP addy
Asterisk logfiles in PIAF show nothing
Oddly enough, if I fire up the trixbox, it answers the calls even though it is a different IP address

This is driving me batty....Any suggestions to steer me on the right track?
Cheers

Hi

No, @lgaetz is absolutely correct, hash (#) symbols aren't for comments in Asterisk, only semi-colons (;).

This my or may not be the problem, but I don't think you can use the # character to comment out lines in Asterisk. Use the ; semicolon instead.

Can you confirm that the new PBX is registered?

Thanks Igaetz.....I have removed the # entries and now it looks like this

type=peer
context=from-trunk
dtmfmode=RFC2833
allow=ulaw
allowguest=no
alwaysauthreject=yes

Still no joy

The PBX accepts registrations from SIP phone and can launch outbound calls on the same trunk successfully...Is that what you mean by registered?

Who is your Sip provider? Do they offer config samples for freepbx? Do you have your inbound route set up?

Thanks for your responses

Here's something interesting. I turned off UPNP on my router, cleared cookies and restarted both router and piaf, turned off trixbox
much joy as inbound calls were now handled

Turned UPNP back on on the router, cleared cookies, restarted router and piaf.....inbound calls still ok
Turned trixbox back on and calls started to be handled by trixbox again
Turned trixbox off and no calls to piaf
Looks like trixbox was creating its own rules via upnp and over riding the basic port forwarding????
