Hi All
Just a few notes on The release of Centos 6.5 and the new PIAF 20650 ISO that will be release RSN (Real Soon Now)
1. We have been playing with Centos 6.5 for a while now. All is well although there have been some minor changes everything is substantially the same. We are testing the ISO internally prior to releasing it.
2. Bad news Dahdi prior to 2.7.0.1 is broken under Centos 6.5. We have managed to *make* 2.7.0.1 compile under Centos 6.5 and it is fully supported and seems to work just fine. our current release of dahdi is 2.7.0.2 which is supposed to compile just fine under Centos 6.5 (we are still testing).
3. If you have a new Digium card model you may be *required* to install Dahdi 2.8.x which just became final. We are not releasing it as a default just yet until it has been tested. If you need it install the default and then run update-source and put the latest on.
4. There is really NO upgrade path between Centos 6.4 and Centos 6.5 for PIAF. Gurus are welcome to do a hand upgrade but there have been a couple of instances in testing that were disasterous. For the interim once we release the 20650 ISO we will still support the 2064X version for a while
5. There is still the e1000 nic problems which do not seem to be getting better with the various increments of Centos. There are a number of fixes out there and once we have found a stable one we will add it to our pre install environment.
6. We are thinking of adding a couple of more proposed projects to the ISO such as a standalone zabbix server. Not sure if they will make it out in the 20650 release.
