I tried to use the command on Ubuntu also but is not working. I checked and I saw Ubuntu use differente folders, so I tried to use the command

root@volla:~# ln -s /etc/init.d/iptables /etc/init.d/iptables-persistent

But I have back this error, I'am sorry but I don't really understand this command

ln: failed to create symbolic link ‘/etc/init.d/iptables-persistent’: File exists

You shouldn't need the command on Ubuntu. It obviously helps with troubleshooting if you provide some info on your setup BEFORE you start seeking help (in the other thread you posted). Thanks.

I had this problem today (5/17/17) on a new RentPBX install of 13-12.
Ward's one-liner appears to have solved the problem.
