What is a WD My Cloud,

this is a NAS that runs Debian on Arm architecture.

Gen 1 is a dual core 1.3ghz armv7 with 256mb ram and 1gb ethernet.

Does not sound like much, but it's a dream

256 Mb isn't sufficient. Secondly, for the effort you'd put in, why not get a Woot VM for $1 / month or Vultr for $2.50 / month?
