We've updated the Incredible PBX installers and ISO for CentOS and Scientific Linux to support the latest releases of Asterisk 13. There were several glitches introduced about the time of the Asterisk 13.11.0 release, and these all have now been addressed. Self-install tutorial available here. Free Cloud tutorial 'til 2017 here. ISO for Flash Drive installer here. ISO install for Vultr here.

The Asterisk 13 upgrade script also has been revised to address the new quirks:

Very cool.

1. In your opinion is there any reason not to upgrade PJSIP to the latest 2.5.5 (July 2016)? This updater is using the old PJSIP 2.3 (Sept 2104).
wget http://www.pjsip.org/release/2.5.5/pjproject-2.5.5.tar.bz2

PJSIP version 2.5.5 is released with the main focus on:

  • IPv6 support in PJNATH
  • IPv6 support in PJLIB-UTIL DNS SRV and DNS AAAA resolution
  • IPv6 support for hostname resolution in PJSIP and PJSUA-LIB

PJSIP version 2.5 is released with main focus on Opus codec and WebRTC AEC integrations. The PJSIP bundled libsrtp package has also been upgraded to version 1.5.4 which brings a higher level of media security via AES-256 crypto suites.

PJSIP version 2.4.5 is released with main focus on support for video capture orientation.

PJSIP version 2.4 is released with main focus on video on Android, which includes a capture device using android.hardware.Camera and a renderer using OpenGL ES 2. We also updated the support for version 2.0.0 of bdIMAD, a multi-platform Speech Quality Enhancement solution including full-duplex Acoustic Echo Canceller and Speech Processor for applications based on PJSIP.

2. Bug, It doesn't download Asterisk-Flite at all, so that build step fails. Should download/make the latest version which is newer than the one installed by the 13-12.2 intaller script.
wget -Ozaf-Asterisk-Flite-latest.tar.gz https://github.com/zaf/Asterisk-Flite/archive/v2.3-flite-1.3.tar.gz

1. My understanding is it needs to match the version relied upon by Asterisk.

2. Huh?

1. Checking the Asterisk docs:
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Building+and+Installing+pjproject
Asterisk [12 or later] requires pjproject version 2.4 or later.
If you have previously installed a version of pjproject, you must remove that version of pjproject prior to building and installing the Asterisk 12 compatible version of pjproject. See Uninstalling pjproject for more information.
This updater script, however, is trying to install PJSIP 2.3, without removing the existing version of PJSIP..
I'd suggest adding the code to remove the currently installed PJSIP, and wget/make the latest version of PJSIP 2.5.5 for the latest version of Asterisk 13.

2. The upgrade script tries to "make" Flite, but the Flite source folder doesn't exist, because the upgrader script hasn't downloaded and untarred Flite, so that "make" fails.

Upgrader script is only for existing Incredible PBX servers which previously used the imbedded version of PJSIP.

Upgrader script is only for existing Incredible PBX servers. FLITE is already installed. It just has to be recompiled once Asterisk is updated.

OK @wardmundy but why not upgrade FLITE to the latest version 2.3-v1.3 from 2016. The installer script used flite 2.2-v1.3 which was released May 2015.

There are about 1,000 apps in Incredible PBX. If it ain't broke, we don't fix it.

While I agree that's reasonable, the release notes with FLITE say 2.3 contains security fixes. Up to you.
