QUESTION H.323 advice

I'm just about the launch into a new project part of which is to connect a PIAF system to an Avaya S8700 using H.323. Does anyone have any advice on which version of PIAF I should use to provide the most stable H.323 implementation. I have used ooh323 in the past with mixed results but it looks as if most people favour the newer Nufone H.323 implementation. What does anyone think please?

Or might it be better to use Yate with H323plus to provide the gateway functionality and use a SIP trunk back to the Asterisk server?

Here is a relevant article on integration of the two. Although a little dated, the programming of the S8700 should still be the same and little has changed in Asterisk.

And one final thought: If the S8700 is connected to an Avaya SES (SIP Enablement Server) you can do direct SIP trunking between the two systems. (But I suspect you're trying to use the Asterisk to be your SES in this case.)
