Problem: Voicemails are saved, can be reviewed from User/Extension, but the email attachment contains a 0 byte file.

Setup: Incredible PBX 11.16-05 for Asterisk-GUI, running on Ubuntu 14.04 x64

Solution: You must install the MP3 encoder "LAME." (Hat tip to this forum post: http://pbxinaflash.com/community/index.php?threads/vm-to-email-with-mp3-attachments.11774/page-3)

Steps:
  1. SSH to command prompt as root.
  2. Type, "apt-get install lame." Click yes if it asks you to download. It should configure automatically.
  3. Reboot.
Now, you should be getting the MP3s of your voicemails.
