system information: pbx in a flash version 1.7.5.7 running on hardware

operating system=centos release 5.7 final
kernel version =2.6.18-274.3.1.e15 -32 bit

i have created no trunks for skype as yet - but simply created a "custom type" extension with the sip alias being SIP/"MY SKYPE FRIEND"/127.0.0.1
this extension number is 210.
when called from another extension - it does nothing ,,, call doesnt go out
i tried simply typing *echo123 in my xlite phone - likewise ,,, no call is made.
i know i havent created any trunks in pbx for skype - but the above by itself should work shouldnt it?
subsequently ,,,
i have created another sip extension ,,, and tried to register siptosis with this.
- but it hasnt registered .
in siptosis.cfg , i have enetered username etc, password,, registration=yes correctly entered what i think to be the right details for my machine for contact url/ etc ... but upshot is ,,, sip show peers reveals no registration from siptosis
incidently for contact url in siptosis.cfg i have enetered the actual ip of my machine 192.168.1.250 not the 127.0.0.1
and realm is asterisk -
anyone got a guess why siptosis isnt registering as an extension ?
using wards default setup would be great - i.e not registering siptosis as an extension ,,, but simply dialling out
SIP/[email protected]:5070 - but it isnt working for me ,,,
siptosis is running
asterisk is running
skype is running ...
where could i be going wrong -?
any advice welcome...
