Do we have to run genzaptelconf every time the system reboots or just after the initial install?

Also on the install PDF (p12-14) it goes into depth on configuring the /etc/sysconfig/zaptel file, but the post on NerdVittles.com (http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=194) makes no mention of this other then running genzaptelconf after install:
There are three important things to do to complete the installation. First, from the command prompt, run genzaptelconf. This sets up your ZAP hardware as well as a timing source for conferencing.

AFAIK you only need to run it every time you change your hardware. (Add or remove modules, etc.)

And as far as editing the /etc/sysconfig/zaptel file is that a necessary step?

Hi BassKozz

It seems either method works. However I tend to always edit the zaptel and comment out anything extra. It is included for completeness

I built a system last night at my office and had to run genzaptelconf and then brought it to my clients office this morning and had to run it again in order to make any inbound or inbound calls.

If the system get powered down for some reason am I going to have to run it again?

UPDATE: JUST REBOOTED TO TEST AND HAD TO RUN IT AGAIN IN ORDER FOR THE TRUNKS TO COME UP...HOW DO I FIX THIS?

Hi

./make config in the zaptel install script does not configure centos 5 to start zaptel services automatically, as it should, so the easiest solution for the moment is to put the line "service zaptel start" in /etc/rc.d/rc.local

Put the line in about halfway down making sure it is before fxotune
