I'm trying to create an extension for my mobile number. Unfortunately my google-fu is just not yielding me any success. I know this has been asked and answered in old threads, but nothing I try is working. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Using the GUI...
  1. I created a new extension "Other (Custom) Device"
  2. Under "This device uses custom technology", I put "Local/MYMOBILENUMBER@from-internal"
  3. Saved and Applied Config.
When I dial the extension, it says the number can't be reached and to please check the number and try again.

Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong?

I'm not sure why that wouldn't work; it used to. But you could cheat and just make a virtual extension with follow me that rings your cell phone . . . pretty much the same thing, no?
