As they say when people call into Radio shows . . . long time listener, first time poster. :) Well, it has been a long time since I have posted.

I have been using PBXinaflash for a long time with Vitelity and have been very happy. I am in need though of a DID in China. Vitelity has been backordered for a bit and I really need to get one in the next few days.

Can anyone make a suggestion for a provider that has Chinese DIDs?

Thanks!

This may be a little off forum header topic, but it is apropos to the thread :)

I wound up getting a DID from DIDww.

Now, I am staring at this DID and confused.

I was under the impression that this setup would be similar to how I setup my Vitelity account. I was looking for a 'howto' to work with Freepbx. There isn't one. Now their support team is telling me that I need to signup with some company called PBXww. Isn't that defeating having PBXinaFlash?

So my thoughts are . . .

Have the DID mapped to my vitelity account. According to DIDWW, this would send the incoming call into Vitelity, which would route it to my PIAF setup. For when I want to call outbound, I would have to go out Vitelity and give them there per minute.

Is there another solution that I am missing?

Thanks!

https://www.didww.com/Knowledgebase...nfiguration_for_didww_did_number_on_asterisk/

Add the listed info to sip_custom.conf (not sip.conf when you use freepbx).

Then create an inbound route for the DID as you configure it in their interface - usually [email protected] where x is your IP or URL.

http://pbxinaflash.com/community/index.php?threads/solved-routing-didww-dids.4890/

for more information.

No need to sign up with any of their pbxww services. The support team English isn't great they might not be totally understanding what you asked for.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Now how do I dial out via DIDWW?

Please bear with my noobishness - I use Vitelity because it just works and it is easy. I have an inbound and outbound route.

Or am I not able to dial out via DIDWW?

You're not able to. DIDww doesn't offer outbound call termination (or perhaps they do but they're not the best deal for that). You can keep using vitelity. I find Anveo Direct has better overseas rates than most but the configuration is quite challenging for someone who is new at it as you are, and thus it might be better to stick with who you have. You can set calls to China (ie that use the country code to China) to have a different CID if you like (I do not know if Caller ID is offered in China) by using a separate outbound route with the Chinese country code in the dial plan followed by a .; the place for setting caller ID is in the outbound route near the top.

Atsak,

I have been going back and forth with vitelity. The DIDWW site allows for mapping their number to a provider. Their default is [email protected]. From my understanding that would push it into vitelity, vitelity would be able to route it to me. So I went down that path and then finally realized that the sip5.vitelity.net is not the same inbound that I have from vitelity :) I changed it to that, worked with DIDWW and finally came up with it is being rejected by Vitelity. After talking to vitelity, I got 3 different answers frooooom 3 different people in their tech support department. I got a yes, a no and a maybe. So the yes person, after going back and forth stated that they could, but it would be some custom map that they would have to do and I would have to have a dedicated did for it. They stated it would be did@ip address. I have been waiting 3 days for them to figure that out.

I am starting to give up on them for this :(

So I am trying to figure out how to implement what you posted above.

I went into FreePBx. I took the sip.conf setup and put it in the sip_custom.conf file. I did not take the extension.conf setting at all. I restarted FreePBX. I went into reports/asterisk info/sip peers.
Here is what I see:

vitel-outbound/x 64.2.142.87 N 5060 Unmonitored
30 sip peers [Monitored: 2 online, 2 offline Unmonitored: 26 online, 0 offline]

So things look good here :)

In Freepbx, I have an inbound route. That route is the full Chinese number with country/area code - 861084054888 - I have that route go to an IVR.

At Diddww - I have a custom server for mapping. The customer server settings are:

Ip Address or domain - my PBXiaf at RentPBX
Protocol: Sip
Preferred Server: USA
CLI Format: raw (I have tried e164)

I am getting fails to connect.

At this point, I just want it to work. If I have to get another company other than Vitelity to take the inbound call, that's fine. If I can get it to work as an inbound with PBXiaf, that is fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

There's a couple ways to do this.

First - In your DIDWW template setup a URI for your Rentpbx server. Here is an example from my DIDWW mapping for a number in Israel:

SIP/[email protected]

where 972X is the phone number / DID assigned by DIDWW and the @x.x.x.x is your rentpbx IP.

The major problem you'll have is that I use my firewall to block all SIP traffic except what I want. DIDWW's netblock is https://www.didww.com/Knowledgebase/the_list_of_didww_ip_addresses/.

So I permit anonymous connections on my PBX - this may not be suitable for your security model, I'm not sure.

However DDIWW provide a script here:

http://open.didww.com/index.php?title=DIDWW_Configuration_Scripts

Under the FreePBX heading which should create the trunks for you. However I can't tell you for sure if it works in 2.11 or not - it was written some time ago it seems. Maybe someone else can look to see if it will work; or you can try it after doing a good backup of everything.

THEN - create an inbound route with the DID you specify in the URI configuration above (which is likely the same as the actual DID but you can put something in the custom field instead if you want)

Just an update, so that this may help others.

1. Vitelity was bad in this scenario. At first they stated they could do it, left me hanging for a few days, then told me to get a separate DID and they would map it. I did what they stated, they left me hanging again and then ultimately said they could not. I have never had issues with Vitelity in the past, this was just a bad taste in my mouth.

2. I tried all the above and could not get it to work :(

3. I got a DID from CallCentric. As CallCentric is listed on DIDWW's site as being able to work with, I figured I would try it. I mapped the DIDWW number to the call centric number, set an inbound route for the callcentric number and everything works.
