OMG what a nightmare. I'd say their IT department is somewhat remiss in cable management.

I think Ward's last snap with yellow cables all around is actually a prank similar to what my IT guys used to do every opportunity we scheduled a network room down time, back in the day when we had 10 mbps switches and still used network cards from 3Com.

For periodic maintenance we used to down our network during the entire weekend, so those kids used to spend all Friday night to do crazy things like in the picture and photo ops the following morning, with me including as the boss.

Then the pictures used to go on our end of year company calendar that we sent to all our customers. Go figure!

Now if that is not a prank, the ownership of the company needs to step in and fire rank and file!

@Halea: Not sure where I found this, but I don't think a prank of that scope is possible, not to mention the cost. Too many wire runs. I feel sorry for the company that would fire the IT staff that set this up. They might never recover.

I would definitely feel sorry for myself if I were the investor who tied up his money in a company running its business on such a spaghetti network!

Colors matter !! true story, long ago we noticed that multi-pair utp cables in underground conduits would slowly lose pairs with green stripes, eventual answer was to use copper wool at the conduit ends.
