Let's just say it's going to be an incredibly exciting year for all of us. Cross-fertilization is a wonderful thing.

I ran 3CX briefly, before going "green" and then finally finding PIAF. It was an OK platform, but at the time they seemed hell bent on driving everyone to the paid version. Every new release dropped functionality from the "free" install.

I liked their android softphone, but I thought they killed functionality with non-3CX servers. Be nice to see that as an option again.

I still use an earlier version of the 3CX softphone for the x86 platform. Version 6 works very nicely as a client with I-PBX and any VoIP provider I have thrown at it. The current version of the softphone only works with 3CX servers, however...

I ran the newest version of 3cx for about 2 weeks, in an attempt to can RingCentral. The system was nice, and they were kind enough to provide me with a resellers license for a months worth of testing. In the end, if you REALLY like the softphone, you can just edit the config file to point to whatever PBX you have :)

FWIW, the setup of PIAF/Incredible PBX was actually a LOT less painful than 3CX. I am curious to see what comes of the collaborations! Also, I prefer Zoiper over the 3CX soft phone.

I use older versions of their soft phone for testing and secondary extensions on the go, I hope this means they'll be supporting our platform again!
