Got this from Tiger Direct today.
Toshiba OCZ Trion 150 960GB SSD – Internal Unit, 2.5” Form Factor, SATS 6Gb/S, Up to 550MB/s Read Speed, Up to 530 MB/s Write Speed, MTBF of Up to 1,500,000 Hours - TRN150-25SAT3-960G - $199

I'm thinking about buying 4 of these for a Dell 2950 I've got and placing them RAID-5 coupled with Prox or Xen and probably Crashplan for the ultimate testing and backup server.

Anyone ever use these or have comments on why not to?

Anyone ... have comments on why not to?
Because ... $800?

:)

(Me, I developed a dislike for Tiger Direct some time ago after a spate of them offering no deal without a rebate, which rebate they would often forget to honor. If no rebate is involved here, and they are meeting your expectations, that's cool).

$800 for 3 Terabyte is a far cry cheaper than paying let's say carbonite for office server backups. Plus it would give me ability to run VM's as backups to VULTR or DO.
No disagreement. Great if it is an expense account item. My quip was assuming personal use, and then from my personal perspective I'd consider the price spendy only because I don't need the "ultimate testing and backup server." At least not right now.

But, I totally understand the desire; been there/done that in the tech realm many times over the years... :)
