    update-programs-fixes-source broke dahdi!?

Thanks guys, I had the same problem after upgrading to Asterisk from 1.8.6.0 to 1.8.7.1 then to 1.8.7.2. Dahdi 2.4.0 didn't compile, so I used 2.5.0.2 and it worked fine. Sorry I forgot to mention that I had to do: "amportal stop" before running the code above. Robin.

    retrieve_conf failed symlink

Thanks Guys, That worked beautifully. As usual, I can always count on the members here to jump in and help before someone goes crazy. Thanks to Ward and the team for making this possible. I can now move ahead with configuring the box. randy7376: I think you forgot the ".d" on the last line...

    retrieve_conf failed symlink

Hi All; I just installed PIAF 17571 32 bit with CentOS 5.7. Everything looked good during the install (4 times) but I keep getting the following message in the FreePBX Notices. Is anybody else having this problem? How can I fix this? Thanks.

QUESTION A2Billing: sending calls to asterisk IVR

rjm, I'm really sorry. I saw IVR and I was thinking voicemail. As tlanghals said, it could be done easily with a Misc App. The feature code 7777 called by local/7777@from-internal would take you to the main IVR. From there you should be able to do what you set out to do. Good luck. Robin

QUESTION A2Billing: sending calls to asterisk IVR

Hi, There are several ways of accomplishing your goal and various factors would determine your ideal solution. The simplest way is to create an extension in FreePBX with voicemail activated. Do not attach a device to the extension then use local/vmext@from-internal. vmext=the extension you...

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT DIDforSale????

Stephen J. I've been with them just over 2 years and I've only had 2 hiccups that didn't last long. One was early this year when one of their carriers started sending inbound traffic in a format my PBX didn't recognize and that was quickly fixed. It only affected a few numbers. Then yesterday...

    Jamaican DIDs

Hi, Many companies out there provide DIDs for Jamaica. The question is, how many channels do you need. Most are 2 channels and are pretty expensive in my view. I have a few Jamaican DIDs from a provider that requires a minimum monthly amount in order to get DIDs from them. If you need only a...

Hardware to connect to Cellular Provider

Joe, That router looks great. I think that would work much better than the CradlePoint I use when travelling. I'll have to find one in the USA or when I go to back London. I was just complicating a simple task. They have to provide a SIP trunk in order for me to send and receive calls...

Hardware to connect to Cellular Provider

Eugene, I agree totally. The more I think of it, I'm beginning to realize that they are the ones who should be providing the SIP trunk on their end but their tech people are making it difficult or don't know about SIP. I'll have to dig deeper into it with them. But if there is a piece of...

Hardware to connect to Cellular Provider

Linetux, Thanks for your response. What I want is for the cellular service provider to send calls to me through the internet. They are saying that they don't currently do that that but are willing to work with me to get it done. They're not in the USA. I don't think it has anything to do...

Hardware to connect to Cellular Provider

Hi All, Maybe someone with some experience in this area can make some suggestions on the best hardware to use in connecting a PIAF box to a Cellular Service provider. I want to be able to receive calls through the internet from a cellular provider then send the call out to extensions. Then...

SOLVED two Asterisk PBX servers connected using an IAX2 trunk

Hi, I feel your pain. We've all been there one time or another. But from reading all the posts in this thread, I feel the problem might be in your configuration. If the call is being rejected by server "B", it is safe to assume the you're not authenticating properly. Could you post your...

    iptables port forwarding?

Linetux, Thanks for your quick reply. I tried what you suggested but I'm still faced with the same problem. Everything looks like it should work but it's not. What I'm not telling you? I'm still wondering if something else has to be enabled in the PIAF distro. Rob.

    iptables port forwarding?

Hi All, If any of the PIAF adventurous types have threaded on the forbidden ground or know what's required to make port forwarding work on a PIAF box, I would really appreciate your help. I'm trying to use my PIAF box as a router for other devices on the private lan (eth1). The box has a...

    Voicemail greeting problem

ADCliff, Make a call to your inbound DID and check your log to see if Asterisk is saying that the file does not exist. If so, check the permissions to the folder and the file. Make sure Asterisk has access to them. Also, check that the file is PCM Encoded 16 Bits, at 8000Hz. Robin.

    Virtualizing PIAF

Hi, This is exciting. I uninstalled vsphere client and reinstalled it but nothing happened. I then followed the direction of dswartz and oh boy, I'm happy. Everything else is so simple. I know this can't be good. I was too easy. Anyhow here is my license info: The key has been sanitized...

    Virtualizing PIAF

Hi dswartz, I also opted to give ESXI 4.1 a try. The installation was a breeze. I created 2 containers and loaded PIAF 1.7.5.5 and everything looks as though I was running it on a standalone machine. I created a couple of extensions and an IAX2 trunk and was really excited. I stopped...

    Home PBX in VMWare

Nixi, How is VMWare working for you. Do you think it can run PIAF in a production environment? I ask because I've seen pure hell the last few months trying to get Dahdi to load on Proxmox. Then I decided to try VMWare 4.1 last night and everything seems to work fine. Like it's too good to...
