    SUGGESTIONS To analog or not

Thanks! The GXW4104 seems like a great deal at $190.

    SUGGESTIONS To analog or not

Always? you mean with analog to sip cards? I definitely don't have that issue with SIP trunks. Also, doing SIP allows them a lot of flexibility with remote home offices. They also own a small title company across town and it would be nice to eventually move them to a sip based system in order to...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT Did I miss free upgrade license?

Yikes, I just realized that its been commercialized as well. That stinks. If they want me to pay extra for personal support, I am fine with that, but I definitely don't want to be limited on features. I guess I can't complain to much with all the many years we did get an awesome solution here.

    SUGGESTIONS To analog or not

I have a client with an aging Avaya Partner ACS system with about 10 phones and 4 phone lines. They just signed a 3 year or so contract with Comcast for their internet and phone service. I am looking into replacing their phone system with sip phones, but would like to keep their 4 pots lines...

FYI Install PIAF on CentOS Existing Installation

Joe, Thanks for the response. Yeah, that is one way to do it and probably the best way. Unfortunately thats not really a route I would like to pursue based on time commitments. Ive been running Asterisk on Xen Paravirtualized guests for about 6 years now. You can't install from ISO's unless...

FYI Install PIAF on CentOS Existing Installation

Your rant was a bit useless as wanting to run Piaf on an existing CentOS install and/or not having the ability to install with an ISO is not specific to virtualization. I am not even going to bother with how far you are off with your assessment of virtualization and how you think it should be...

FYI Install PIAF on CentOS Existing Installation

Thats unfortunate. Id rather use my own infrastructure or pick a provider based on something other than the fact that they have a particular template. =(

FYI Install PIAF on CentOS Existing Installation

Is this activespeak script still the best way to install Piaf on an existing server? I am wanting to make sure I install an LTS version too.

Security For PBXIAF Hosted In a Datacenter

Is there a wiki article or something that lists the inbound/outbound tcp/udp ports that need to be open? My piaf system is at a DC and I am using sip/iax2 for trunks and extensions. Unfortunately just stating that piaf should work out of the box doesnt really meet my needs. Maybe i lost all my...

    deskphone refusing anonymous call?

I have two Cisco SPA504G connected to my local piaf system and both are receiving calls just fine for the most part. Callers cannot get to these phones without calling the company phone number, then dialing their extension during the IVR message or when it times out, it rings a ring group they...

script initiated phone call for monitoring

im thinking about having my server monitoring system use my asterisk server to call me if a server becomes unavailable (probably wont have it to it until its down at least 5 minutes). Anyway, any ideas how i might go about interfacing with asterisk/freepbx to do this? not required, but would be...

Choppy audio on IVR playback, etc

removed the kernel exclude from yum, upgraded the kernel and made sure the devel versions was available as well and now things are working great again. Woo hoo!

Choppy audio on IVR playback, etc

All of a sudden after a few years of my piaf system virtualized in xen, I started having choppy audio playback. Voice calls (SIP only) are fine though. I have full control of the xen host node, so im confident its not a resource usage issue by the other guests. The only thing I can think of is...

    ARI and Asterisk Manager passwords

Ok, found passwd-ari option, no idea why thats not listed with the other password options versus being at the end. Then I found these directions off the following link:freepbx.org/support/documentation/faq/changing-the-asterisk-manager-password I still think these should be included with...

    ARI and Asterisk Manager passwords

So unfortunately it appears that password-master doesnt change the ARI or Asterisk Manager passwords. So the question is whats the easiest way to get these changed? Im getting the warning in freepbx about them being default. Im quite surprised this isnt something thats already been scripted, but...

No reports or monitor/recordings - showing (VM does display vm-messages)

Well as i suspected, it was the wrong password in /etc/asterisk/cdr_mysql.conf. Well, it was the correct password that i had setup, but wasnt the one that the asteriskuser had setup in mysql. Guess the change password script didnt work on everything.

No reports or monitor/recordings - showing (VM does display vm-messages)

Recompiling asterisk is a bit excessive especially when asterisk itself works fine. Im 99.9% sure its just a case of a missing config entry.

Note, im running: PBX in a Flash BRONZE Daemon Status - Released on 060111 Asterisk 1.6 I do not see any cdr load entries in /etc/asterisk/modules.conf or any mysql auth information in /etc/asterisk/cdr.conf.
