FOOD FOR THOUGHT Using A Cheap Laptop For IncrediblePBX?

I've been using a Core2 Lenovo laptop for an Asterisk server for one client for a while. It works great, I just set the BIOS to auto power up at 2AM every morning, and to not go to sleep when AC is plugged in. To mount it on the wall, I used a 1x1 and a 4 inch wide piece of 1/8 plywood...

DEAL Siemens optiPoint 410 $20 each

I've "power on" tested 18 of the phones. There were several more that were severely abused, but these are in good shape.

DEAL Siemens optiPoint 410 $20 each

I have at least 30 of these from a call center upgrade. Most are in very good shape. All were installed with PoE, so no external power supplies, but I do have the pinout and specs if needed. I'll be putting them on ebay next week, but wanted to offer them here first. $20 each plus actual cost...

Support for 11 doesn't end until late in 2017. https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Asterisk+Versions

    SUGGESTIONS Incredible 11, 12 or 13?

I wouldn't mess with 12 at all, since it is nearing End of Life. 13 is very new, and while it is working well in my test setup, I'm not going to put it into a production system. 11 is very stable, I trust it and am installing it in a production system this weekend.

I'm looking forward to it on the RPi2. I tried to find the instructions, but only saw them for Ubuntu and CentOS, not for Debian/Raspian.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT 40 Node Raspberry Pi Cluster...

David is a member of the Dallas Makerspace, as am I. David started the Pi Cluster as a thesis project, but when he discovered that the university would own his designs and code he decided to do something else as his thesis... and do the Pi Cluster to learn real world distributed computing...

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

If you comment on, or create, one of the threads in the obivoice feedback forum, you will get an email announcement when obivoice updates the thread. So far, there have been two updates that interested me... the one about failover forwarding and one about downloadable call detail reports, both...

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

I was getting support online from Ryan, the owner of obivoice, the other day and mentioned that the nerdvittles code was out here on PiaF. He was ok with it being out in the world, but mentioned that it was set for only 50 instances of $15 off the 2yr unlimited byod plan.

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

Well, that was quick... obivoice added Failover Forward as an option on the Account Settings page today.

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

Outbound faxing from their web portal ( https://www.obivoice.com/fax.php ) is free and does not require a 2nd DID, unless you want their system to handle inbound faxes that drop in your email inbox.

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

Definitely want to go with the unlimited... from an email from their support group: Extra DID's are $0.99 setup and $2.00/mo unlimited. (I could not find the $2/mo pricing anywhere on the site, but their support listed it in an email.)

    TIPS Nortel IP 1535 $27.95

There are two "Turkish" models out there... one with WiFi and one without. Both can be set to english language... but the version without WiFi is missing the radio hardware daughter board.
