I think it may have something to do with trying to register a fqdn and being somewhat impatient. I have no devices trying to register. Good idea on stopping f2b. I'll try that.

Is anyone else having issues with trying to whitelist on install? It may have something to do with my trying to list a fqdn in addition to an ip address. Is there a way to do a fqdn traveling man style? I keep getting locked out of the gui.

I tried another domain and it seems to work. I am getting an error, but this is different. This popped up where it was trying to tell us what iptables rules were in effect for this domain. Looked like grep was used but failed.

Are you sure the call is making it to the PBX?

UPDATE: The only thing I wanted to change was the email branding, so I just changed %BRAND% to my desired text in the body of the email. Way easier than installing phpmyadmin because changing the host settings in /etc/sysconfig/network didn't do the BRAND variable.

@wardmundy I am having the same issues, specifically with duckdns, no ipchecker.log, knockd working but not fqdn. IncrediblePBX whole enchilada install but did not separately install the bind-utils. Incredible PBX 13.0.192.19. I was able to get through after manually running iptables-restart.

Once I asked a friend to help me solve a problem that seemed beyond me. He got back to me with a post from here.... I was quite embarrassed to see he quoted from my own post with the solution to the problem...

Thanks krzykat. I appreciate the nudge in the right direction. For those using Scientific Linux 6.9 as part of IncrediblePBX, (and for me when I forget) the hostname is hidden over in /etc/sysconfig/network

Is there a way to safely change this to something else? Is it just changing it in /etc/hosts or is there more to it?

Are you, by any chance, using Vultr? I just had the same need, or so I thought. Turned out to be that Vultr had blocked SMTP on all their instances. A ticket submitted and a quick email to tell them why I wanted email and everything is turned on and working. Incredible PBX should work out of...

I always used dyndns.org when I needed to use a dynamic ip, but with mixed results. Do you have knockd turned on? Incredible 13-13 is pretty rock solid when it comes to security. You are going to get port scanned, its a fact of VoIP life. Secure passwords are real important.

Vultr, Digital Ocean, even Woot are all useful. I also recommend RentPBX, which is more expensive but rock solid. I also like the ISO feature on Vultr. It is kind of awesome. BTW, they have a pre-built snapshot of FreePBX in the ISO library.

Thank you kb9mwr. I'll give it a shot. I was thinking that IPBX would work out of the box as if by magic. Most everything else kinda does.

Are you by any chance using Vultr? I had a similar issue with a server mounted on Vultr and it turned out to be blocked SMTP ports by Vultr. I put in a ticket and they opened them right up.

I have mail spooling from [email protected] in my IPBX 13-13 whole enchilada and was wondering how to change that from domain to something more friendly that gmail won't throw in spam. Thanks.

Will mail work out of the box on IPBX 13-13 or do we need to configure something? I'm on Vultr and it looks like there have been some issues, but I don't see fixes. UPDATE: Vultr closes SMTP ports on new servers. If you open a ticket, they will open SMTP.

Check your NAT settings. Are you on a cloud or local server?

Inbound calls are very inexpensive but unlimited did's are not. You can usually make out better with a pay per minute did.

Have you considered using CID Superfecta? I believe it looks at the Astridex database for entries and posts them first. You can also link in openCNAM which is very inexpensive, and it will save those numbers it has looked up.
