SUGGESTIONS Which low-cost Firewall/Router are you using to test SIP devices?

I second @Halea with pfSense. Can't go wrong with the price and functionality. Never had an issue with SIP or RTP.

    NO JOY Porting Issues

I've been using Callcentric for about 15 years and they have been great. I've setup many of my smaller clients with their service. Porting has usually been very smooth. Lately, the last few months, I have ran into crazy drawn out porting issues moving numbers into Callcentric. These issue are...

QUESTION Has anyone made Grandstreams phones or ATA's work from an .OVPN file?

The cipher and the auth in the config don't match the HT801 OVPN settings above

QUESTION Has anyone made Grandstreams phones or ATA's work from an .OVPN file?

I've only had success with the low end GXP series and pfSense OpenVPN. I tried with the higher end GXP1760 and could never get it to work. Have you tried to "dumb" down the crypto settings, like BF-CBC and SHA1? I think these use very old versions of OpenVPN and OpenSSL.

    DEAL Worldwide DID numbers

Looks like they are affiliated with DIDWW. Did a traceroute to the SIP servers they have listed.

FYI Yealink T33W & T44W with AMR codec

I just saw an announcement for the new Yealink phones and noticed in the datasheet they support AMR-NB & AMR-WB/G.722.2 codec. I learn something new everyday and had never heard of AMR. Looks to be used in older mobile networks. Seems like it was patented and expensive but those patents had...

FYI Looking for VoIP WiFi handset with call forwarding

I've used these in large hotels and prefer them to a wifi phone: https://www.engeniustech.com/industrial-voice-voip.html

NO JOY Rocky 8 2027 Adding Extension and Inbound DID

Try using PJSIP instead of chan_sip. I'm pretty sure chan_sip is not enabled or removed from Incrediblepbx 2027

NO JOY PFsense 2.6 ---> 2.7 breaks outgoing calls

What's your topology? pfSense in the cloud with IPBX behind it? Or pfSense onsite with a phone behind it.

NO JOY PFsense 2.6 ---> 2.7 breaks outgoing calls

Try this. Create an outbound nat rule using the public IP address. Make sure to select use "static port." pfSense is rewritting the SIP port to a random number

NO JOY PFsense 2.6 ---> 2.7 breaks outgoing calls

I have many pfSense firewalls in place and haven't seen this issue with upgrading. Who is your SIP trunk provider?

TIPS E1 Link is going up and down , please help

I'd get away from your PRI or T1 service (just noticed you're using an E1. Are you in Europe?). A SIP trunk is so much easier, normally much cheaper and more flexible! If under contract with your carrier see if they will provide SIP trunking. If you are not under contract move away to any of the...

TIPS E1 Link is going up and down , please help

Google search brings this up: https://community.asterisk.org/t/dahdi-error-got-dahdi-event-hdlc-bad-fcs-8-on-d-channel-of-span-1/67638 Looks like you'll need to get your telco involved.

Do you mean Yeastar TG200? I've looked into this for a client but haven't ordered one yet. Let me know what you think.

NO JOY PBX2021 - CallCentric trunk

Under "Settings" -> "Asterisk SIP Settings" I use PJSIP but not sure if you are using SIP for your Callcentric trunk. I'd switch to a PJSIP trunk for Callcentric if I were you.

    Interconnecting Asterisk Servers with PJsip

@wardmundy Great writeup. I've been using this exact setup for years and it works great! Much easier than using SIP or IAX trunks. If I remember correctly I had to the remote subnets in "General SIP Settings" menu. Maybe that isn't necessary now? I do like the numbering format you used and the...

    RECOMMENDATIONS Vanity Toll Free Suggestions

My client is an older gentlemen that is starting a new side business and wants a 800 number. It told him 833 & 877 are available but he wants 800.

    RECOMMENDATIONS Vanity Toll Free Suggestions

I need a specific 800 toll free number that when I do a RespOrg search on it it shows "Verizon LEC NXNY1" is the owner. Which I assume is actually an old NYNEX/ATT assigned number. When I call the number it plays back that it's not in service. I've called about six different Verizon departments...

    FreePBX and Anveo Direct (Outbound)

I've always used one but I have multiple prefixes depending on the end user. As for the context I noticed the OP had "Anveo" in there.
