    ALERT FreePBX 13 Alert

I dropped in to ask if these plans have changed at all now that it is possible to install FPBX13 from "scratch" on CentOS7. I understand the proprietary Sangoma modules are still a thorn in everyone's side but if we don't care about the System Admin module etc and just want a very basic PBX...

    QUIRK biosdevdame ≠ biosdevname

Just a quick thing I noticed in the Incredible PBX install instructions... (http://nerdvittles.com/?p=14208) In the part about editing /etc/default/grub it seems to have a typo: # patch grub and ignore any errors if your server doesn't use it sed -i 's|quiet|quiet net.ifnames=0 biosdevdame=0|'...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT One Address Book To Rule Them All?

I'm not doing anything too fancy (yet). Just installed the built-in CardDAV package from the Synology Package Manager. It uses a PostgreSQL db as its backend. So this can be queried directly from the commandline when you're logged in as root. Some stuff I have "figured out" so far (this is not...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT One Address Book To Rule Them All?

Hi everyone, I've been searching High and Low for weeks now but coming up empty. Hoping someone else has crossed this bridge before and has some advice. The problem I'm trying to solve is having a Single, Unified, Self-hosted Address Book source that syncs between my desktop computer (a...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT "MOH Musings" or, some oddities I've noticed

I noticed today that the following command: $ cd /var/lib/asterisk//////mohmp3 Still succeeds just fine, and gives exactly the same result as the more "correct": $ cd /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 So apparently (bug or not) the extra slashes are merely cosmetic defects.

Set CALLERID correctly on internal extension

krzykat, Believe it or not, almost 2 years later & I am still "looking". I did recently get a new version of VoipMonitor (2.0) but sadly haven't had the chance to test it yet. The thing that I discovered recently is that Asterisk doesn't seem very good at collecting RTCP reports. Olle...

    Dahdi Source: Sangoma UT50

I don't know - I have a ticket open with them about UT50/51 and as of yet it's unresolved. This is a little annoying as the 2.6-rc has been out for many many months. They should have tested it, that's the whole point of an rc. Some vendors take a "wait and see" approach, waiting for the...

    PIONEERS: Incredible PBX 3.0

Is there a good (cheap) atom or other embedded type of hardware that is capable of properly running piaf 2.x/centos 6.x (64bit). It's been a while since I've been shopping for such things.

    PIONEERS: Incredible PBX 3.0

The Deacon: did you ever get anywhere with your iPBX 3.0 install on the R1600 Revo? I have one of those here with only 2gb of ram and I was thinking of trying to install as well but looks like you had a lot of issues so maybe time for a new box.

    install-silk now available.

Does anyone have a list of hardware endpoints (i.e. phones) that support the SILK codec? I checked and my Polycom SPIP unfortunately does not.

    Install-siren now available

How does Siren14 compare to G722 in sound quality? The Polycom IP650 that I use seems to support only Siren14 - according to the spec it seems to be double the sample rate (32khz vs 16khz for G722) and bitrate 40-64kbps which is up to 50% more efficient than G722's rate of 80k. Seems like a...

Blind Xfers (Transfers) -- losing hair

Looks like this might be an Asterisk bug? https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-19173 I didn't open this ticket but the symptoms describe my situation to the tee. Hopefully Ross will provide those SIP traces and packet captures as I don't seem to be able to comment or upload...

    NO JOY Munin Install

Not to digress too much but is munin one of the better ways to monitor a PIAF install? I remember it came preloaded by default on the small atom system I loaded with PIAF purple about a year and half ago, and I wound up disabling it because the munin processes were taking up too much cpu...

    Polycom VVX500

Congratulations on the VVX500. I had my eye on one as well, looks like an awesome endpoint. Sorry I don't have any advice for integrating w. PIAF, but why would this be any different than any other Polycom? Set up the .cfg files on your provisioning server and away you go... no?

Blind Xfers (Transfers) -- losing hair

hey folks, I have an aging PIAF purple install w. FPBX 2.8 that I've updated to Asterisk 1.8.9.0-rc1 and suddenly I'm having a heck of a time with Blind xfers. Actually they aren't working at all. I *think* this coincided with the 1.8.9 update but actually I'm not sure of that. My...

    yum-updatesd eating CPU

    Thank you, sir :wink5:

    yum-updatesd eating CPU

on my old PIAF box running centos55 I see from time to time yum-updatesd eating 90-100% of my CPU. I looked at /etc/yum/yum-updatesd.conf and it's not set to auto-download or auto-install anything anyway, so I'd rather just 'yum update' when I feel the need rather than every 300 seconds...
