RECOMMENDATIONS PAID project request - Integration with Shoretel for call center features

Inherited a 1 year old Shoretel system. It uses SIP for 3rd party connectivity, but I'm not sure what it uses for internal connectivity (certainly all IP, just don't know protocols) Company now wants to add call center type features - inbound queues, reporting of queue time, call back features...

Do providers DSCP tag packets from PSTN?

Let's say the gigabit LAN links aren't saturated....aren't fully busy..... but isn't the switch QOS (in this case DSCP packet tagging) still important? Even though there's enough bandwidth, isn't the QOS mechanism such that it would still "choose" the dscp packet over the "other" (anything...

    Avaya Telecommuter Mode?

Yeah..I guess I'll just go the hard-phone route. Problem is what happens when the Internet gets "poor". I'm going to get bad sound quality and jumpiness. And our customers who call in aren't going to like it. I'll put QOS on the router and such and do the best QOS I can, even if it's just...

    Avaya Telecommuter Mode?

I figured as such that it wasn't existing....what if..... Is there another way to have an offsite person able to take calls from a queue via a POTS line? (maybe have the POTS line not have call waiting for something??) I understand they would not be able to transfer "back" to the company...

    Avaya Telecommuter Mode?

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to do this with Asterisk 1.4.26. Previously, our I had an Avaya Definity G3si PBX where remote users were using Avaya softphones in telecommuter mode. This is the mode where the softphone registers to the IP PBX over VPN and you control the call with the...

Aastra's, VLAN's and Dell Switches (mix of L3 and L2)

Day in and Day out. I know the feeling of being overwhelmed....the thing that punks me everyday from getting on the VLAN project is my lovely legacy ERP application from Nine Teen Eighty Freaking Nine that demands constant attention. If I can set the phones to do VLAN 1 in their config and...

Aastra's, VLAN's and Dell Switches (mix of L3 and L2)

That's just it...I don't know who to hire locallly or remotely that knows the Dell switches and the Aastra phones. That's what I really need. The only guy I called said I should run two cables to every desk and wouldn't entertain the VLAN thing. AKA: He was full of it to some extent...

Aastra's, VLAN's and Dell Switches (mix of L3 and L2)

I am looking for an expert to help me, hold my hand, square me away. I will pay of course and am not looking for forum advice per se but it always helps. I need professional help. (more than one person has told me that :) ) I need someone who has literally done this before, hopefully lots of...

    TIPS Nortel IP 1535 $27.95

So is everyone sure they'll work? Just curious. I think I'll pick up some if we're "reasonable" sure they'll work.

    Best quality provider?

I have had great luck with VOIP.MS on their Dallas and Houston servers...I like they have multiple servers so I can choose one close to me.

    Latency

As crazy as that is....here's what I'd do a. New cables outright (Ethernet ones) b. Try a friends router...any changes...it sure looks like strange router behavior to me. The pausing is very strange.

    freepbx 2.8

I agree that the comments on 2.8 are counter productive. That said....is it relatively "safe" to update PBXInaFlash to 2.8 now? The only thing I use outside of norm is the custom contexts...which I think the bounty got paid and is safe too.
