I'm going to get flamed/banned but I ... just...can't...stop...myself. Ward & Co. got upset several years ago by the direction the Asterisk project took that "broke" existing code and as a result the project has not fully embraced Asterisk 1.6, DAHDI and all the latest and greatest "stuff"...

I used to watch the forum but haven't been here in while because I finally gave up. I'm still on 1.4 because no update-source for 1.6 has been made available. Hopefully since I was here last it's been released?

Generally 1.6 is not supported by the PIAF team. They have locked to an older version of 1.4 and Zaptel with the adage "if it ain't broke..." or maybe more accurately "we think the new stuff *is* broke". The ISO's have an install for 1.6 but it's old and update-source16 does not work. That...

The scripts are not provided as source they are "compiled" - another pet peeve but I respect the protection of their intellectual property but it seems unneighborly - and people like you or me could have potentially done just that (fixed the script) and provided it back to the PIAF community...

Again - you guys provide all this great stuff for free and I really appreciate it. But... you don't really support 1.6. The installed version is very old and upgrade-source16 hasn't been provided in over a year. RSN isn't really RSN is it? I know Ward HATES the fact they broke old stuff...
