    Trunk Dial Rules

I would agree that Swiss Army Knife is the preferred solution, but will it work with F---PBX 2.10? For some reason I had thought that 2.9 was the last supported version (though I'd be happy to be wrong about that). (Still hoping Ward and the gang will one day come up with a PiaF-like project...

    SUGGESTIONS VoIP Provider Suggestions

Besides the ones already mentioned, ViaTalk is another that works with Asterisk. They even have an item in their control panel that gives you suggested Asterisk settings (which are for native Asterisk, but it's not hard to figure out what goes in the Trunk settings in PiaF).

    Bad Week for Google Voice

If it's not one thing it's another — while this likely wouldn't affect most PiaF users, Asterisk 10 users should be aware that any upgrade past version 10.0.x apparently breaks Google Voice support for both incoming and outgoing calls. See http://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-19374...

    Skype?

I make be wrong, but I had thought that there was a "fake" audio driver you could run for situations like this. You'd have to do a search for it because I don't recall the particulars, but I do believe such a thing exists.

Incoming calls work with externip but fail with externhost??

I've consistently had the same experience as you, even using different routers. "externhost" is just another one of those things in Asterisk that simply will not work for some people, and nobody seems to know why. If you are worried that your IP address may change, then this might possibly be a...

I'm not, but in case you don't get any other replies, this page might prove helpful - maybe.

Add user-defined fields to extension config pages? (New module suggestion)

If we have anyone here that knows how to write a FPBX module and would like a quick project that would probably be useful to a lot of us, I'd like to suggest a module that would add user-defined fields to extension configuration pages. This would be considered a "tool" module and you'd go into...

    Obi110 star codes & PIAF

There are Obihai star codes that conflict with PiaF star codes. There are several ways you can deal with this: You can go into the OBiTALK portal, go to "Expert Configuration Mode" for your device, and then go to "Star Codes" and make edits in the Star Code profiles. These is the current Star...

    forward on extension unregistered

I know this is an old thread, but I've updated the article mentioned in the previous comment so it SHOULD now work with Asterisk 1.8. Also, before anyone tries that other method mentioned in the comment above mine, see http://www.asterisk.org/node/51679 and note the first issue mentioned in...

i may be having a google voice problem

Since no one else has explained I hope no one will mind if I just point you to this recent article in my blog: I no longer recommend using Asterisk’s Google Voice support — try these methods instead!

Google Voice (GV, GVoice) (Incoming calls) being touchy

This is exactly the problem that led me to write this: I no longer recommend using Asterisk’s Google Voice support — try these methods instead! If you go the route of trying FreeSWITCH as a bridge between Asterisk and Google Voice, be sure to read the comments underneath that article...

    GVoice In Flames No More

It's been a while since I've posted on this topic, in part because I've had little to say that wouldn't consist of more ranting about Digium pretty much abandoning their Google Voice support, and I know some of you disagree with my views on that, and in the end such rants accomplish nothing...

Future of SAK (Swiss Army Knife)

Just as a point of information, does this mean that all of the functionality of the Swiss Army Knife module is available in FPBX 2.10 EXCEPT Regular Expressions in the blacklist? And since it's been several months since the original post, I'll just ask if that has been addressed at all since...

    Endpoint with Dynamic DNS

Certain VoIP adapters (and, I'd suppose, certain phones, though I don't know which offhand) transmit a unique string during registration that could be used in a "knock" that opens the firewall. See: Link: Interesting security technique for Asterisk and FreePBX users (may work with other...

7 digit dialling with google voice

I hate to barge in on this but I can see why it is not working, however I don't do the stupid little boxes that they put in the outbound routes and trunks in F---PBX 2.8 and later — I use the Swiss Army Knife module (for which I am incredibly thankful) to get the old-style text boxes back. So...

    PIONEERS Exploring Speech to Text

Sorry, for some reason I thought you were talking about getting a transcription of a voicemail message along with the voicemail audio file itself (and yes that was my fault for not reading more closely — guess I saw the reference to Google Voice and thought you wanted to duplicate that behavior...

    PIONEERS Exploring Speech to Text

I may be entirely wrong about this (wouldn't be the first time) but I believe that whatever sends out the voicemail notifications is an internal function of Asterisk, not a part of PiaF or FPBX (though they let you configure it more easily). I think that in order to do what you're suggesting...

    PIONEERS Exploring Speech to Text

Just one more thought, for those who dislike flite as much as I do... There is a stock Asterisk recording where Allison says "Say your temporary message and then press the pound key". It is in the /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en directory and the filename is say-temp-msg-prs-pound.wav (it may have...

    PIONEERS Exploring Speech to Text

I don't know what PiaF has installed but I do know you need to have the following: flac and sox (try using which to see if they are installed, if not then yum install them) The two perl modules mentioned in the "use" statements in /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/speech-recog.agi Hopefully you...

    PIONEERS Exploring Speech to Text

For those who want to experiment with a speech to e-mail (text) application for your own personal use, you might try dropping something like this into extensions_custom.conf. I am only posting this as an example of what might work, and because of darmock's comment I'm specifically NOT saying...
