Parked call joining with incoming call

<tongue-in-cheek> I had another thought. Forget figuring it out and throw up an IVR that says "press 1 for John, press 2 for Mary" and you'll have a lot fewer xcrossed calls. </tongue-in-cheek>

Parked call joining with incoming call

As my girlfriend says, "that is messed." Parked calls are parked in an Asterisk application that keeps track of who had what calls parked and where they should go. They should not be accessible from the dialplan to external calls like that. One suggestion - can't user A just put caller 1 on...

    Meetme Conf Hand Raise

The MeetMe of Asterisk is fairly primitive and limited. I do not believe this functionality exists. I have heard tale of a MeetMe replacement from time to time, but I've never used any such beasts.

Hi Asterisk 1.4 + zaptel drivers

Pop one module board off at a time and see which one is the problem. Lightning strikes have destroyed more than one of our TDM daughtercards from time to time.

SOLVED PBX Behind Pfsense Takes Long Time To Load GUI

I'm serve as the CTO of a company that uses Enswitch to resell bandwidth to resellers as well as to sell bandwidth to end clients. Previously, their direct end clients all had SonicWalls as their border routers and, in most cases, any internal network routing/switching equipment. When this...

SIP client wont authenticate with vanilla Purple PiaF install

My suggestion is an RMA with money back and get an Acer Aspire Revo. :)

    Piaf on a site-to-site openVPN

The VPN stuff sounds as though the two ends didn't know that they were part of the same overall network. Setting localnet=remote_subnet in sip_general_custom.conf basically fixes that by letting the Asterisk box think that it's on the same subnet as the remote box. I'm not an Android user so...

TIPS One Way Audio -Purple install

So what happened a week and a half ago? Do you have control over the intervening network? Did some "well meaning" networking person do something? More details about the setup would be helpful.

    External MoH Source

We gave up on external audio for our systems long ago. Never got what we wanted out of it, either from line-ins or from streaming sources. I'd be curious to know how you make out with this. We want to stream local public radio stations to our clients that underwrite programs on those stations.

    Piaf on a site-to-site openVPN

I'll assume the pfsense install is separate from the PIAF box? I don't know pfsense specifically, but is there a way to make the VPN connection the same subnet across the remote networks? Meaning, 192.168.1.0/24 is the left hand side and .0.0/24 is the right hand side and 10.0.1.0/24 is the...

SIP client wont authenticate with vanilla Purple PiaF install

X-ten's "Authorization name" must not be blank. This is the username it authenticates with, which may be different than the extension number. Put 701 here and you should be good to go.

FYI Install PIAF on CentOS Existing Installation

SELinux is great on a machine that will have users (even if they're just system administrators) on it, doing things. It will help protect against accidental or intentional modifications to systems that are integral to the functionality and availability of the system. On a server class machine...

    Voicemail not functioning….

I think a blocked email would show up in /var/log/maillog, in that case. Don't know for sure, since I NEVER have broken email servers.

    Voicemail not functioning….

Crank up the debug/verbose in the Asterisk log and have a look see at /var/log/asterisk/full would be my next suggestion. Typically, not being able to send mail is a result of one of two things: 1) Not being TOLD to send mail (so check your extension configuration) 2) Not being ABLE to send...

FYI Install PIAF on CentOS Existing Installation

Go one step farther and use pageant (with putty on a PC) or ssh-agent on a UNIX box to store your keys while you're online and you only have to enter them once. The ssh connection will look for a key manager, and if there is one, use the keys stored there, if applicable. I can type 120+ wpm...

Need help with Aastra scripts on remote server

In general, you will need t*f*t*p, FTP, or HTTP access from the network that the phones are on through all the firewalls that are between you and your server, and then your server needs to be set up to allow connectivity to t*f*t*p, FTP, or HTTP to provide the configuration files to your phones...

    Asterisk 1.6.0 or 1.6.2?

My first result was...#fail. That was just taking our stock PBX box and do a stock Asterisk 1.6.2 install. I didn't even look at what the errors were yet, so this tells you how "important" it is to me. :) Will report progress when I have something further to report.

    Asterisk 1.6.0 or 1.6.2?

People ask me this all the time. "Should I upgrade product ABC from version X to version Y?" The answer is always the same: Is the return on investment of time, money, resources, and sleepless nights going to be worth the additional functionality, stability, and/or bug fixes that you will get...
