Adding Wan interface to live PBX system

Boy, I would really not recommend that. While it is certainly possible to lock down said WAN port, what is wrong with having the box protected by a real firewall? I guess if the LAN would be NAT'ed and you don't like that? I assume you can just add another nic and centos should see it when it...

Voicemail to email not working, do I need to config something?

Shouldn't you be able to just set the smarthost/relay for the piaf box to your exchange server? IMO, sendmail sucks hard, and the first thing I do is to uninstall it and replace it with postfix. Takes about 2 minutes to configure postfix with a smarthost/relay and you are good to go.

    NO JOY Munin Install

I run icinga, which is a fork of nagios. my main server monitors the piaf server with the basic 'ping test' (although you could add others.) I also coded up a 'check_sip_peer' and 'check_sip_registration' scripts that use the asterisk command to query peer/registration status and return OK or not.

DSL modem - Single point of failure????

what you are not seeing is the word 'modem'. for a dsl line, you need a modem to interface with the telco. some units nowadays combine the modem and router part (i assume yours does?) so if that died, you would not be able to hook the piaf box up to the telco line, since you would have no...

    Windows Based Call-Display?

ugh Yeah, I've been trying for awhile to get to the page. I don't know who hosts this, but how hard can it be to have a site that isn't broken this way? Not a great way to get people to try your program :(

Eugene, what is that test software you were using?

    Is starting over necessary everytime?

Even easier. If you are using esxi, use the vsphere client interface to snapshot the VM at each step. Backing out a f*ck-up is as simple as a couple of mouse clicks.

I HAVE A DREAM NEW CallerID Superfecta 2.2.4: THE MODULE

Silly question? I have superfecta 2.2.5beta1 (which came with my 1.8 install). Sources are the phonebook and whitepages. I've noticed that it seems to be set up to automatically add entries to the phonebook, which I find extremely irritating, since a lot of the callers have stale/garbage CNAM...

Holy cow. Guys, I was joking! And poking fun at the people who love living on the razor edge, not making fun of piaf! As long as I've been on the Internet, I occasionally forget that posts can be read multiple different ways, and people have no idea why you wrote something. Sorry about that :(

hmmm how about A piaf based on all pre-alpha software. We can call it PIAF-BROWN for the color of your trousers when you put it into production?
