RECOMMENDATIONS How many do this full time?

I've been in the VoIP business for a while, and I've already landed a 2K seat Cisco install for 2017. However no matter how hard I try I just can't crack the open source world. I've designed some nice systems based on Twilio with asterisk and had some elegant solutions that are easy to...

    TIPS Freepbx security

Its secure as you make it. 95 percent of the systems I install are cisco and they get hacked just the same if some common since is not used. Freepbx/PIAF/IPBX I have several of these systems I manage in the cloud. Some simple rules I use 1. Use IPtables to allow traffic you want in from...

I havent done the SIP firmware with PIAF, but I do know it being very specific with the firmware versions. I installed chan-b-sccp and having the phones work on native SCCP firmware is great.

SUGGESTIONS What Is The Best Phone to Use With Incredible PBX?

I've been using a lot of phones recently. I like using my cisco 7945 as my daily driver. However I do like the yealink T46G and T32G. With the Chan_b-sccp module the cisco phones work great. Still I use yealink phones when a customer wants a call center.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT What ever happened to FREESwitch?

1.6 was just released and it has some great video features. I've been thinking about using it as a video bridge for a client. Time is one of the things I'm lacking on, so when I do get some(spring 2016) I'll have a deeper dive.

SUGGESTIONS Analog Gateways - Advice Needed

Yes you should try it out before deploying it, but a DID from a SIP trunk provider setup a SIP trunk and test it out. When the failure happens dial the number and see if it fails over to your Analog gateway. You can also shut down your SIP trunk and see if it happens. As for G729 ,I'm not...

SUGGESTIONS Analog Gateways - Advice Needed

I would stick with doing the PSTN as you have it now and use a SIP trunk from your analog gateway to your system. This will get you comfortable with a SIP trunk on one side of your system. Until you can get stable internet I would shy away from ITSP's unless you like adventure. For example...
