    TIPS Port Checker Questions

    1. I am very perplexed. I have closed all ports on my router (no forwarding) (Ubiquiti edgemax) 2. Sip registers fine with 3CX to VOIP provider (voip.ms) 3. first call on either of my SIP trunks goes to busy signal 4. As soon as I run the port checker, and services are restarted, all calls start...

    RECOMMENDATIONS Firewall and security settings

i am trying to prevent having to "re-establish" connectivity if the server is rebooted or power outage, etc without making a call or running port checker Just wondering if I am missing something simple

    RECOMMENDATIONS Firewall and security settings

yes, port checker passes on port 5060 and is opened

    RECOMMENDATIONS Firewall and security settings

ok, still trying to figure this out 1. Edgemax router 2. SIP ALG disabled 3. ports forwarded to 3cx (all public ips accepted, so this scares me) 4. upon reboot of 3cx, no incoming call works UNTIL I make an outgoing call OR I run the firewall checker it is almost like the sip packets dont know...

TIPS Need advice on port forwarding for multiple phones

You should not have to have any ports forwarded in this use case. The phones would open the port to your hosted pbx They will be assigned different ports by the pbx as they register

    RECOMMENDATIONS Firewall and security settings

    TIPS Router and ports !

one more thought...so I also tried this: I ran the "firewall checker" on 3cx and kept 5060 closed to the world It says it failed (as expected) but...then no longer a busy inbound signal My only worry is that upon reboot or power outage, would have to re-do

    TIPS Router and ports !

i have it narrowed down to the 5060 port. I get a busy signal until I open port 5060 and forward to the 3cx box I just want to make sure this device is protected though. Any best practices?

    TIPS Router and ports !

    1. Just installed new 3CX PBX behind my home router/firewall (Edgemax lite) 2. I wanted to white list the IP address of my VOIP provider 3. I created a destination two port forwards, for the 5060 and 9000-9010 ports I also opened the firewall to accept only packets from the voip source ip to...
