    SUGGESTIONS Aastra XML 2.3.0 Scripts

There it was, staring me right in the face, and I didn't see it. I was getting the 'enter password' message, and after punching it, I did not see the 'Options' button. Thank you. (I still think that I like the original better, but this is improving, and moving the buttons to where I want them...

    SUGGESTIONS Aastra XML 2.3.0 Scripts

Can you hard code the voicemail password? I recently upgraded my home system to PIAF purple, along with the 2.3.0 xml scripts for aastra phones. On my previously installed setup, you could hard code the password for voicemail in the MAC_ADDRESS.cfg file, but in the new files, everything I've...

    Error when forwarding voicemails

I have had problems with 'purple' piaf 1.7.5.5.4 and voicemail. First, the /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default directories aren't added correctly. The /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/device has the symbolic link, but there's nothing to link to. Once I create the appropriate directories, a...

    Errors burning/installing 17554

My error was a bad CD-RW disk. I didn't burn the first two copies with error checking, but with a third burn with error checking, I found the problem. Installation is now proceeding without problems.

    Errors burning/installing 17554

My md5sum does match, and I get the same error. I reburned the disk, and got it again. I'll try a different download source, but with the md5sum correct, I'm sceptical that that's going to be of much benefit.

    SUGGESTIONS Aastra XML 2.3.0 Scripts

Voicemail won't play I'm essentially having the same problem, though my 57iCT doesn't play a busy tone or lock up, it just won't play the message. I have 57iCT.st ver. 2.6.0.2010 on the phone, and downgrading it to previous working versions had no effect. PIAF version = 1.7.5.5 FreePBX...

    TIPS ODBC Conflict

I was specifically looking for references to 'exten => 222' when I looked at the file. I initially asked the question because many of the .conf files aren't to be edited directly. Since odbc.conf didn't have the header about editing, I should have assumed that I could edit it directly.

    TIPS ODBC Conflict

The problem is with the odbc.conf file, because when I try to dial the 222 and 223 extensions I get the message, "Please enter the 5 digit employee number." The odbc.conf file uses both those extensions, and no others. The extensions work fine to dial out, but you can't dial in to those...

    TIPS ODBC Conflict

I recently upgraded my home system to the "Incredible PBX" version from an earlier PIAF version and have run into a conflict. I had previously used extensions 222 and 223 on my system, and to avoid changes that would require relearning something (as you get older ...) I set things up with the...

    mp3 files played over intercom??

The intercom is/are FreePBX extensions. I have a couple of grandstream phones and an aastra phone, which will autoanswer. I currently have my desktop computer playing the desired files through its sound system into the adjacent desktop phone. I paged out to the other phones with that one, and...

    mp3 files played over intercom??

I have a working intercom system setup with asterisk (piaf 1.3), but I'd like to play mp3 files over the intercom. Is there an easy way to set it up to do that? Thanks.

    Callerid on TIVO

    >> exten => 9999,1,System(/bin/echo -n -e "${CALLERID(name)}" |/usr/bin/nc -w 1 192.168.0.26 3333) I had left out the brackets around CALLERID(number) when I had tried adding it to the echoed string. exten => 9999,1,System(/bin/echo -n -e "${CALLERID(name)} ${CALLERID(number)}" |/usr/bin/nc -w...

    Callerid on TIVO

I found another reference that provided enough info to get callerid from an asterisk pbx partially working with my tivo. The reference is: freepbx.org/support/documentation/howtos/howto-mythtv-callerid-osd I added the following line to the extensions_custom.conf file under the...

    Callerid on TIVO

I have been trying to get callerid working on my hacked Tivo (zipper), and have been unsuccessfully trying sip2ncid (part of the ncid package on the Tivo), so I started looking elsewhere. On the web page http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+call+notification it shows a modification of the...

    addendum to callerid info

Problem solved. The wireless phones had some callerid info stored from their earlier usage on the POTS system. Now that their directory has been purged, they display the callerid info that is sent to them, rather than what is stored in their memory. My PIAF system is slowly evolving into what I...

    addendum to callerid info

I'm not sure as to what is going on, but I just had a call come in from outside, and the 'CID Name Prefix' that I added in the Rinng Group showed up on the POTS wireless phone, but when I dial in from my cell phone, it doesn't.

    addendum to callerid info

Something that I didn't mention in my previous post is that the "CID Name Prefix" in the Ring Groups adds on a prefix, but it doesn't show up on my POTS phone callerid, only on my SIP phones. It doesn't help me there, as I already know if the call is for me based on which line is ringing. I need...

    addendum to callerid info

I have a POTS answering machine with 3 wireless handsets connected to my PIAF server. The phone is answered with an IVR, where the caller punches the number for the desired party. I'd like to have the callerid info ammended so that the callerid info also shows to whom the call is for. Is it...

TUTORIAL Install gMail as SMTP SmartHost for SendMail

Has anybody looked at sSMTP? I just came across this article http://www.linux.com/feature/132006 that describes a simplified SMTP agent, designed to use a remote SMTP server (your ISP's). It sounds like it might be just what is needed. I'm not about to try it, as I currently have a working...

    UPDATE: TeleYapper Phonebook

I figured out what the problem was. It obviously wasn't file permissions, as the system is now working. I'm not sure why asterisk didn't stop with an 'amportal restart' command, but once I went into the asterisk CLI and halted it and restarted, everything is now working again. Now, I get to...
