    PIAF2: HTTPS and Mod_SSL

I have done this before on both of my PIAF servers and have never had this issue. You might not want to do this, because it will break certain parts of PIAF including the CID Superfecta. Also you will need to setup a redirect to use port 443 in httpd which can cause issues in some situations...

    PowerEdge T110 II

All the Dell new Tell PowerEdge TXXX Series work fine with PIAF. I have used PIAF with a Dell T310.

AWAITING FEEDBACK PIAF *not* loving Cisco 7961 / 7941 *at all* (detailed)

Then it's not a phone problem - something with Asterisk...Ross or Ward could help you with this.

AWAITING FEEDBACK PIAF *not* loving Cisco 7961 / 7941 *at all* (detailed)

Would you please try NAT set to "never"? PS: They can use different types of config files.

AWAITING FEEDBACK PIAF *not* loving Cisco 7961 / 7941 *at all* (detailed)

What kind of config files are you using? XML? Set NAT to "never" and turn iptables and fail2ban off. (From my experience it makes a difference)

    MySQL Server Default Password

Do NOT change the MySQL password. This WILL break your PBX and cause other problems. This does not cause any security problems, and should be set to this for your PBX to work.

    Cisco 7941 won't register

Qualify in the extension settings should be set to "yes" for a 7941. Also try the phone with iptables and fail2ban stopped.

    Cisco 7941 won't register

The XML files look fine, but your asterisk settings are wrong. Only change the extension NAT settings to "never" and leave the Asterisk one alone. I have setup lots of Cisco 79xx phones and these settings work on all my phones.

    Problem restoring backup. Ahhhh!!!

FreePBX 2.9 seems to break things in PIAF. The most stable FreePBX version for PIAF is still 2.8.

    Might have to disable iptables

I have had my PIAF box behind a Untangle firewall for a while with only the minimum ports turned on and I have been fine. I would recommend you learn more about iptables and use it because it can protect your box from serious trouble. If you are behind a secure hardware firewall I think it would...

ttyIAX0 [Please wait] for all four modems

You are running Asterisk 10. This is a BETA software with MANY bugs that have to be worked out. If this is a production box, I suggest re-installing to Asterisk 1.8. Asterisk 10 is not yet ready for many people. This is probably the root of your problems.

    Cisco 5XX and 79XX handsets

They are different handsets. The 79xx handsets have a light pipe for a LED in the phone, the 5xx (like a 504G) handsets don't. Please try the Asterisk echo test to try the handsets for faults.

New Option: RPM asterisk and Dahdi instead of compiling ??

Disabling DAHDI is a really bad idea. It breaks a lot of things in Asterisk and FreePBX, from my experience when I did it to a FreePBX box I had a while back.

    port 5060 attack

This is what I would do first. It is the fastest (takes about 30 min) and fixes the problem for now.

    Lost Proxmox Password

Single user mode might be locked on Proxmox. If you can not get to single user mode, you can not reset the root password.

    port 5060 attack

    1. You can not stop this. Only the attacker can. 2. I do not know enough about asterisk to tell you that, but Google is your friend. 3. See #1

    port 5060 attack

Well if someone is throwing ~500 requests a minute at your server, it will tend to do that.

Backup a Piaf box to a new Hard drive ?

I have do a disk to disk backup for my server every month. I have a SATA data and power cable sticking out of a slot of the top and plug a drive into that and back my server up. I do this because the box the backup is being is done on has to be up all the time and not be down. This is the...

    port 5060 attack

Someone is trying to brute force your SIP secrets. MAKE SURE YOUR SIP SECRETS ARE STRONG. If possible remove your server from the network and block the IP address the attack is coming from.

    Mobile Phone iPhone / Droid

To any Android/iPhone developers out there...this would be great to have emulated for SIP and PIAF.
