Hello,

I have a fresh Installation of IncrediblePBX on a Raspberry Pi3+...
Asterisk 13.22
FreePBX 13.0
IncrediblePBX 13-13.7

This is not my first installation, but this time I can't get fax (Avantfax + HylaFax as supplied by the scrpt incrediblefax13-raspi.sh

First: the script tells me to accept all default except the area code ... but: it never asks for the are code?

Second: the supplied Webmin Module loads into webmin, and it displays all 4 IAX modems (as idle), but whatever I try to configure, after submitting the changes in the webmin module, it just shows an empty scree, and nothing gets written into the config files.

OK, not a big deal, it's easy enough to edit /etc/hylafax/config.IAX0 etc and restart hylafax.

But there must be something wrong more deeply

sending a fax ALWAYS end with "no local dialtone".

In the ASsterisk consile (verbose = 9), nothing shows up. Not a single character. "iax2 debug on" spits out many lines from my connected IAX softphones, but again not a single line about the fax try.
I can't find any traces in any of the log files in /var/log/asterisk or /var/log/hylafax ....

Incoming faxes do not work either: I do see the incoming call in the asterisk console, but....

So, the key error message seems to be:
Unable to create channel of type 'IAX2' (cause 20 - Subscriber absent)

OK, what have I done wrong?

or, better: what do I have to do to get it going again?

Regards

Chris

Still nothing works

sending out a fax always gives: no local dialtone
requirecalltoken=no is set, so that does not seem to be the problem

iax2 debug shows:

I guess "Registration Refused" is not what it should be?

But well, I have installed it using the incrediblefax-script - which is supposed to set all this automatically.

Looks like it didn't.

How can I fix that??

Well, .....

It looks like I've found one error:

the passwords in /etc/iaxmodem/iaxmodem-cfg.ttyIAX[0-3] did NOT match those in /etc/asterisk/iax_custom.conf for [iax-fax1] etc ...

As I have not installed anthing manually, but just used /root/incrediblefax13-raspi.sh to install ecerything on a completely fresh Raspi 3+ / IncrediblePBX box ...
...
I guess, there is some error in that setup script.

Well, it doesn't seem that there is much interest in the fax part anymore these days. I tried to configure it on two different systems and on both I get a "busy signal detected" - no joy here either.

I posted the issue to this forum a while ago and although there 77 views, no reply - good luck!

i am using Avanfax on local install Centos 6.9.
something went wrong with your install. you have to provide the info asked when running the installation including an email otherwise the installer fails. Ward said do not do any changes through Webmin. i think you he knows why .
