I'm using Issabel (latest version) with Travelin Man 3. I'd like to use its email server capabilites. How do I go about opening email ports with Travelin Man. I've searched and searched (not exaggerating, hours) but can't find it. I can only guess that it's not suggested for the security implications. I don't see secure-iptables with this version

I have basic knowledge if iptables and have recipes to set up my servers, including email servers, but the traveling man is a bit more complex.

If you can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Are you by any chance using Vultr? I had a similar issue with a server mounted on Vultr and it turned out to be blocked SMTP ports by Vultr. I put in a ticket and they opened them right up.

No, but thanks, it's a true dedicated server I got on a black friday deal at namecheap a few years ago. But I am really am thinking about using Vultr, seems like a reasonable option. It's even cheaper than digital ocean and the fact you can use your own iso is awesome

I just can't figure out how to open the ports. Docs for previous versions of Travelin' Man said to edit a file called secure-pbx but it dosen't exist in this version. I've used Increditble PBX for a few years, but it's one of those things I set up once every few years so I forget the process and newer versions send me for a spin.

Vultr, Digital Ocean, even Woot are all useful. I also recommend RentPBX, which is more expensive but rock solid. I also like the ISO feature on Vultr. It is kind of awesome. BTW, they have a pre-built snapshot of FreePBX in the ISO library.

I found the answer
edit file /usr/local/sbin/iptables-custom (read the comments, I added them under "# Here are the basic rules...")

then restart iptables using iptables-restart
