It turned out that the person who distributed the original recordings recanted his earlier announcement that he had permission to use them. There are plenty of earlier copies still in circulation if you do a little Googling.

Thanks for the info. I see someone put up the code to host it on your own system.

I hope Lenny never goes totally away! Lenny dutifully takes all of our telemarketing & other undesirable calls and has done so for many years. He never seems to get upset by them either.

Reminds me that I need to get a fresh copy of Lenny for a PIAF replacement project I'm working on. Early 2009 PIAF running on 2004 hardware, still kicking. Obviously time for new hardware, so time for a fresh version.

Seems to work in version 13 of FreePBX, however, it is for blacklist only. A bit hard to blacklist an "unknown," or anonymous.. Looks like I will have to make a custom extension.

hmmmm.. i've been using Lenny for years - usually have him on ext 900 on most of my builds...

For repeat offenders, i simply capture a CID, then give them their own special inbound route, right to his extension.

The funny thing is, he's just as patient as ever!

The SIP/URI for Lenny, SIP/[email protected], doesn't appear to be working. The spam call is redirected but after four or five rings it ends and Lenny doesn't answer.

This is what it says after dialing the SIP/URI:

WARNING[19620]: chan_sip.c:4030 retrans_pkt: Retransmission timeout reached on transmission

Everyone is busy/congested at this time (1:0/0/1)
-- Executing [s@app-blacklist-check:7] Hangup

Is there another SIP/URI that's working or am I doing something wrong?

Yes you are using the SIP URI,. That site has been down for years. As mentioned above, go to git-hub, and download the module, and install it.

I'm running the latest Incredible PBX for Raspian with GVSIP. I set one of my GVSIP trunks as an incoming route to Extension 53669. This used to work fine on my previous platforms, but no longer. I may hear one ring, then silence and after a few seconds, the call drops. However, when I dial 53669 from an internal extension, Lenny works just fine. This is driving me nuts. I've tried several fresh install and always get the same result. Could anyone point me in the right direction please? I can send log files if needed.

Lenny works just fine.
I believe you are dialing ext 53669 which is a custom extension pointing to SIP/[email protected] In other words you are dialing Lenny hosted on sip2sip.info which works.
Check from the GUI Applications/Extensions/Actions/ Edit ext 53669 On the Advanced Tab under 'Dial' it tells what you are dialing should be SIP/[email protected],20,tr .That means Lenny is not installed on your pi.

Under Admin/Blacklist/ on the Settings Tab it points to Extensions/53669 LENNY
So you are not hosting Lenny

OK, now go read that post yourself (Asterisk 1.8, and Asterisk 11) and the last post date 2013 -- 5 YEARS ago, just because you can find a post, does NOT mean the post is up to dat or links in them still work. -- Case and Point -- Go to post #5 in this thread and click the link, good luck -- the module is GONE

Somewhere else it says the module is a gpl freepbx_its-lenny ..really do this in ssh ./gpl-module-list this give you a list -- now SHOW me lenny, that is missing too.

Now, I have the 15 recordings (I backed them up to an external Hard Drive at home, I have the lenny-lates.tar.gx file ( will this work now, probably not if the project is GONE) so and before Dieter's post #12, the last post was TWO years ago.

If lenny is still around and still works we need new links to where the It's Lenny Blacklist Mod is -- and the extension 53669 is not set up in Asterisk 13 unless the Module did that which I have not tried yet (I do have the 'old' form-internal-custom (or whatever) block of code to send to the LOCAL lenny instead of the sip2sip.info Lenny, so how do we send blacklist calls to it?

Just my devils advocate and wanting this back myself.

That is correct, extension 53669 is pointing to SIP/[email protected], so Lenny is not hosted locally. However, in my previous installation of Incredible PBX 13 w/o GVSIP, this worked fine for both internal calls and DID with destination of ext.53669. I am now running the latest available, Incredible PBX 13-13.7 for Raspberry Pi 2B.

I can confirm that this scenario worked before and is now broken. I just pointed an Inbound Route to Extension LENNY. The call is answered, silence for a few seconds, then disconnects the call.

My guess is that @lgaetz considered that to be obsolete for fpbx GUI_13 as the new GUI allows you to point the incoming blacklisted numbers to well anywhere you want. So you (or someone) only have to place a workable dialplan probably found in the (Lennys Back thread) and that points to where the 17 sound files should go in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/lenny or en/lenny if that floats your boat. To do that remember that asterisk assumes the sound files to be in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/ ; so the path in the Background() function (and perhaps elsewhere) may need adjusting
Code:
exten => 53669,n,Background(lenny/${lennyclip})
where lenny in between the (...../ should be the relative path to the lenny folder.
Lastly tell fpbx in GUI that you created a custom extension such as with Dial set as before at
Code:
local/53669@from-internal

The disapeared blacklist mod simply has checkboxes (Other/Lenny Blacklist) to enable redirect and recording
Code:
Enable redirect y/n
Enable Recording y/n
Destination local/53669@from-internal
The new GUI Admin/Blacklist in Settings provides for block unknown caller
and for the various destinations listed in the drop-downs

That leaves recording which was catered for either in the recording settings in the blacklist or in 53669 extension.
But also catered for in the original dial plan at the commented out lines; because recording may get you locked up if you are in some funny jurisdictions or maybe in the White House.

Don't enable too many recording methods or you get echo -- "Hello th""Hello this is...."

Caution I haven't done all this yet but that would be my plan.

Worked for me with the sip URI SIP/[email protected] .
As above when I enabled recording in a couple of places (incoming and extension) I got stereo voices with one delayed.

Someone may be able to help debug if you drop in with the CLI logs etc.
