It looks like hes using PBXWW from the youtube video. It is hosted on what looks like his domain. Do you think he has access to the PBXWW code or is he reselling it you think?

I wrote a Perl script for a client for adding extensions and inbound routes - I chose to interact with freepbx via webscraping to avoid having to:
- figure out internals of freepbx
- hopefully have less chance of something changing between versions

It worked pretty well though the code was a bit ugly by the end due changes in scope over months, feature addons, and starting to use it to enforce some policies at that company. The only change found over time between freepbx versions was the login authentication process which was easy enough to handle.

The only real problem I found was that I was unable to *modify* existing extensions via webscraping for reasons I could not determine after a day or two of trying, so modifications were done by deleting and re-creating extensions. The script was mainly used to create new extensions/inbound routes so this was not a big deal to them; minor changes (like changing the assigned phone mac address) were done manually via the GUI.

What we've come to realize since beginning this thread and experimenting with Asterisk-GUI and Gemeinschaft is... it probably doesn't make good sense to rely upon FreePBX to implement a new state-of-the-art, drag-and-drop user interface and code generator for Asterisk. In fact, it's probably not a good idea to limit your VoIP platform to just Asterisk if you don't have to.

For those that are always quick to find fault in anything we say, let me be clear. Sangoma was the very first financial contributor to the PBX in a Flash project. We have nothing but respect for the Sangoma folks. They are a terrific company with or without Schmooze Com. This is 100% about freedom of choice and freedom to use open source products in accordance with the terms of their original licenses without further legal entanglements or shenanigans such as those outlined in the hypotheticals here (not that anyone would do such a thing, of course). More importantly, it's about building a better, safer, and more reliable open source VoIP mousetrap.

If we can implement a better UI with a more generic code generator, why introduce yet another layer of MiddleWare between the Incredible UI and Asterisk... or FreeSwitch? So...

We still have the dream, but the names in the product mix may change to future-proof end users. Take a look at what could be built in minutes instead of months using the right toolkit...

Stay tuned. 2015 is going to be an exciting year for the PBX in a Flash and Incredible PBX projects and for VoIP!

Sorry this may sound side lining, but..

If a new build is going to be made will this strictly be targeted for home use? Does line card support need to be put in?

What will be the target platform, cheap little boxes like pi's and stuff? (ie boxes < 100$?) sometimes i think we are at the tipping point where buying hardware is become more cumbersome than hosting, when you look at things like all the vps stuff out there thats 5$ or less...

asteriskmonkey: We'd love to see a (free) home/SOHO use solution that was targeted to groups with 10 extensions or less with the ability to purchase a system that supports a larger installed base. In this way, people could try out the full-featured service and use it for small operations or at home while evaluating its potential to run larger companies. Whether it's Cloud-based or runs on cheap hardware could probably be decided by the type of offering. :arabia:

so soho, we'd think like basics like phone number config, voicemenu, person(where you set forwards and sip devices),voicemail, internal numbers, and some trunk/provider settings? other stuff would get consider actual large scale business use?

well the carrier grade one is free :) your just locked to using carriers said services in exchange, which when you compare to a phone line really is moot since it works out cheaper (no power,no hardware, no phoneline etc..:). If anyone interest they can pm me and ill give them some resellers at random or based on their area/country.

re stripped copy here is what one would look like
,

well minus the pricing meck in top corner/more polished, that ones way old.

kazoo uses freeswitch and kamailio so its more stable than freepbx, its meant for larger deployments though with multiple nodes. would rank as fairly heavy for a rasberry pi or small device. still a good option though.

I don't look at gui's as much more than config generators and API front ends. Kazoo-ui is probably no more heavy than Asterisk gui. Usually you can disable them and the PBX will keep working. To me the issue of stability is more to do with the backend so Asterisk/Freeswitch.

No idea how much effort to make something like kazoo-ui work with anything besides Kazoo. Kazoo-ui and Asterisk gui both use javascript so maybe there could be some cross pollination.

Just getting round to this.
Super effort thanks.
I downloaded to pc on account of wget HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 Forbidden (because 2FA auth)
Dropped them into incredible /nas/cli-apps/ extract with
Bash:
tar zxvf *.tar.gz

add-extension-* points to 5060 so still in chan_sip land.
