I have really appreciated everyone's help as I work through my crash course on linux along with getting 1755 + a2b set up. Thank you!

Currently I am at the point in the a2b 1.3.4 to 1.8 (thought I was installing 1.7.1, but the screens say 1.8?) conversion where I am logging into the main a2b page as root with changepassword. I get into the main admin portal no problem. Trying to go anywhere from there and I get an Error Page saying Sorry, you don't have access to this page.

Trying to long in as root with changepassword on the customer portal kicks back with a "blocked user" message.

Agent kicks back an Authentication Refused, check your password message.

Can anyone help me to understand what I may have missed along the way?

The root password is changed from my old one so it looks like something went right? Or is something fubar?

Thanks again for any and all pointers,

Rob

I have successfully upgraded PHP but I think I am rather lost with upgrading A2Billing. As I didn't set up anything in 1.3.4, I am thinking that I would be better off ripping everything out alltogether and starting over with a fresh install.

I would appreciate guidance on the advisability of this move.

It would be so very appreciated if someone could point me to a detailed set of instructions on how to do this.

Thank you in advance.
I have followed the instructions including the editing of the extensions_custom.conf. I have amportaled, shutdown the virtual iso as well as the proxmox server without success for the Incredible install (I have a VM 1.4 install in which it works like a champ).

I've tried the default password, a 4, 7 and 10 digit password ... reloading the script, etc.

Input?

I don't know if this belongs here or on the a2b forum, so I appologise if this is in the wrong place but I'm guessing here.

In comparing Joe Roper's install instructions under tshif's An Adverture in PBX Billing - Part 1 thread, there is some custom code that is to go into extensions_custom.conf. In looking through that, I noticed that there is an include for extensions_a2billing.conf.

May I presume that the macro-dialout-trunk-predial-hook and custom-freepbx-a2billing code has been replaced by the extensions_a2billing.conf include or do I still need that in there somewhere?

Secondly, does anyone know if upgrading beyond a2b 1.3.4 works with IncrediblePBX? I need agents.

Lastly, is there a way to export the a2billing data? I would like to track sales agent performance, and I think this is probably beyond the design intent of a2b.

Thank you in advance,

I was finishing this up for myself, and thought I would pretty it up and make it installable by upload/activate etc (I did it by hand creating it).

All I really need to do is finish up the error checking on the inputed values etc and write out the conf file with all the current comments etc so it remains as 100% orig looking as I can.

Let me know

I am a solo family doctor who needs to automate the scheduling of patients. I have an online scheduler that works very well, but many patients are not comfortable with going to the internet to schedule an appointment. I need a phone-based scheduling system that would integrate with my online scheduler (http://www.hitappoint.com/). I have a very basic understanding of IVR and realize that it could do this, but I don't think I have the technical skills to integrate IVR and the online scheduler. There is a website I found that offers exactly what I am looking for (http://www.itfrontdesk.com/products.htm) and I have requested pricing information from them. I suspect their service will not be cheap, and I need to be able to also consider the option of a do-it-yourself solution. My question for the members of this forum is how difficult is it to put together a Piaf program that integrates with an outside online scheduler, and how much know-how is required.

Thanks,
Scott.

Hi

Today, I had cause to do a re-installation of a server which was in a remote hosting centre in France.

The hosting company was OVH, and they supply systems with their own custom kernel, but do not supply the kernel sources, so no possibility to compile Dahdi, so after some Googling, I discovered that you can do a re-installation of the operating system if you have an existing system, without being present to insert the CD.

The system I installed was a 64 bit system, but some minor modifications below would work for a 32 bit system (In the instructions below replace x86_64 with i386)

Code:

mkdir /cleaninstall
cd /cleaninstall

wget http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/centos.org/5.5/os/x86_64/images/pxeboot/initrd.img
wget http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/centos.org/5.5/os/x86_64/images/pxeboot/vmlinuz

cp vmlinuz /boot/vmlinuz.cent.pxe
cp initrd.img /boot/initrd.img.cent.pxe

yum install grub

Code:

cat /dev/null > /boot/grub/menu.lst
vi /boot/grub/menu.lst

And then place the code below in the menu.lst

Edit the IP address, Gateway, DNS etc etc to suit your own installation.

Code:

default 0
timeout 30
title Centos Install (PXE)
        root (hd0,0)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz.cent.pxe vnc vncpassword=YOURPASSWORD headless ip=YOUR_IP_ADDR netmask=YOUR_NETMASK gateway=YOUR_GATEWAY dns=YOUR_DNS ksdevice=eth0 method=http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/centos.org/5.5/os/x86_64/ lang=en_US keymap=us
        initrd /boot/initrd.img.cent.pxe

Install Grub into the MBR as below:-

Code:

grub-install /dev/sda
grub-install --recheck /dev/sda

This assumes that the discs are on sda. Edit as required.

Then reboot.

Maintain a permanent ping to the server from your desktop, and a few seconds after it reappears on the net, you can connect with VNC, e.g. tightvnc.

Connect with your ip followed by a :1, e.g. if the server is on 192.168.1.200, then you would put 192.168.1.200:1 in the VNC client.

Just enter the password set above e.g. "YOURPASSWORD" and connect.

You will then be presented with the centOS installation screens, just follow your nose, and when the install comes to an end and you have rebooted, you have a brand new fresh install of CentOS, without having to leave your chair, which was handy for me as I am currently sitting at anchor, of the east coast of Majorca.

You can then proceed with a PIAF install based on the script described here:-

http://pbxinaflash.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7648

Note that this set of instructions is for a 64 bit install, and the script to install PiaF is 32 bit, but I'm sure you can join the dots. In the instructions above replace x86_64 with i386

Joe
