I noted high IOWAIT time on a Class 10 card on my Pi3. I also have a PI2, running the RaspIvo 16.10 code that does NOT have this issue.

The high (70-80%) IOwait makes it damn near unusable.

I do NOT see the SD Card light on whilst in this state.
Ideas?

Which version of the software are you running? Date is at the top of pbxstatus.

No idea. Not seeing it at this end. Might be worth trying a new install.

Tried a different one and same thing (SanDisk Ultra). Tried a SanDisk Extreme, and all is well.

Talked to SanDisk, and the ULTRA's are NOT guaranteed on RasPi's.

They even go so far as to VOID the Warranty on the cards using RasPi's.

I should have known something(tm) was nish-kosher when it took 4 hours to copy the image on my late-2013 MacBook Pro.

This Extreme card it took ~45 minutes to copy the image, and all works well.

Mayhaps we need a warning here?

FYI: $10 rotgut cards work just fine. :driving:

I've added a warning in the main article. This is bizarre to say the least. Sounds like SanDisk has problems on platforms other than the RasPi if it took four hours to create an image on a Mac.

I responded to SanDisk with more questions, but at least I now have a responsive RPI3. I marked this solved, but will post what SanDisk comes back with, if it's anything useful.
