Grandstream has a new (free) SIP softphone for Android and now for iOS. Review coming soon, but the softphone looks and sounds great. Includes SMS messaging.

Setup is pretty straight forward on iOS.
Interface needs a lot of work in my opinion, but call quality seems pretty good.

• I like the way backgrounding works automatically unlike Groundwire.
• BLF's seem to be pretty well hidden or don't yet exist.
• Not a fan of the way the call history list dominates the keypad.
• Missed calls and call history seems to be a bit broken as it lists entire contact list not just call history.

Will have to use it a lot more to see how much it affects battery life if left running in the background.

I'm predicting a paid for version that adds things like the BLF's, but time will tell
