I'm a Snom guy but would like to try an AAstra 57i phone.
What I like about the Snoms are that you can program an LED to turn on to indicate there is a parked call there. Can this be done the same way with a 57i?

Absolutely. You can modify the aastrta.cfg file to include blf for each parked extension mapped to a button if you wish. If a call is parked there, it's lit. Simply press to connect. The main shortcoming is screen real estate. You have to 'flip' through the equivilant of pages to get to some features/extensions if you have more than a few.

This is the code I have in the aastra.cfg file to map the park button and parking lot for extension 71 to the upper two buttons on right side of the 57i.

Code:
topsoftkey4 type: park
topsoftkey4 label: Park
topsoftkey4 value: asterisk;70
topsoftkey4 states: Incoming Outgoing Busy Connected

topsoftkey5 type: blf
topsoftkey5 label: 71
topsoftkey5 value: "71"
