    Install quits to login prompt

That did it (manually running the commands in the anaconda-ks.cfg file, then running piafdl)! Thanks for the advice.

    Install quits to login prompt

Thanks. I will give that a try. In my case, the network card is running fine and can access the Internet but the piafdl file is nowhere to be found. When I login I get a bash prmpmt and the /etc/pbx directory is empty.

    Install quits to login prompt

I am seeing the same thing. I used the same 2.0.6.2.1 32-bit disk earlier this month and no problem. This install, however, is on an old Dell box. Will use the suggested piafdl command. Where is piafdl? I cannot find it.

    FOP problem

I have not made any progress on fixing this. Before I invest more time into it, what experiences have people had with FOP 2? Is it stable, is it hard to install and configure, does it break anything, does it provide the same functuality? Is it worth the effort to install and configure...

    FOP problem

Thanks for that tip. I ran that script (now its a php file) and the errors are pointing in the direction of a permission problem: root@pbx:/var/lib/asterisk/bin $ php ./retrieve_op_conf_from_mysql.php PHP Warning: mysql_query(): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password...

PSTN call forwarding for night mode

In our neck of the woods the remote side needs to answer the *72 call in order for the line to be transfered. I guess you could play a message after it connects that notifies the answering service that this is an automated transfer.

PSTN call forwarding for night mode

On one of my installs with an analog card (PBX in a Flash Version = 1.7.5.5 ) they engage the phone company forwarding manually. I created a trunk that contains only the main number (set DAHDI identifier to 1 instead of g0). Then I set an outbound route to use that trunk when they dial a 9...

    dropped calls

Update Updated the firmware in my linksys router so that SIP ALG is off. So far, so good. Here is what nexVortex (my ITSP) says about SIP ALG: "That is most definitely in relation to the problem. The SIP ALG is a packet sniffer which captures sip traffic before it gets in the network if...

    dropped calls

Uh oh. Looked around a little further and found this thread by amygrant with a very similar problem and the same error message. chan_sip.c: Retransmission timeout reached on transmission Part of the solution description mentioned a Netgear router needing a feature called SIP ALG...

    FOP problem

I have two Purple systems that I recently installed. One running Asterisk 1.8.2.3 is VOIP only (no analog). The other running 1.8.2.2 is using a Sangoma analog card (B600D). Both running Freepbx 2.8.0.2 FOP works fine on the 1.8.2.2 system with the analog card. Can see the state of all of...

Adding FXS Card to Established System?

Just installed a Purple system with the Sangoma B600D (PRI card) on an Intel Atom-based system. Runs great. I have installed that card on Trixbox systems and have had similar success. After installing PIAF purple, I added the card and followed the Sangoma instructions on their web site to...

    Voicemail Forwarding

Thanks Tom. I noticed by going to the Asterisk site and looking at the change log that both of the patches I needed were incorporated into 1.8.3; so all I really needed to do was an update-source. I guess that doing the manual install insures that you don't get some other fix or update that...

    FIX: Asterisk 1.8 Blind T'fer

Carlos, I noticed the same thing on my 1.8.2.3 system as well. This is a bug as the parking lot number is NOT announced to the person on the asterisk side parking the call (it is being announced to the wrong party)! Have you reported this?

    Voicemail Forwarding

Ward, you are up mighty early. Hope you are sleeping nights! Thanks for the reply and the confirmation that update source is not run on install. I am confused on the other part of the reply. Silver Bronze and Purple always get the latest source on the initial install, Gold gets some...

    Voicemail Forwarding

Running PIAF 1.7.5.5 , Purple version 1.79, Freepbx 2.8.0.2, Asterisk version 1.8.2.2 Installed on January 26 2011. Was not able to forward voicemails. Today, ran update-programs, then update-fixes. That did not fix the problem. Then I found this patch...

    PIAF Running on Compact Flash

I have been using CompactFlash devices (using various Sata and IDE adapters) on both Linux and Windows systems for a while now with mixed results (e.g file servers using CF as boot drive, small embedded Windows units in vehicles). But recently I tried an 8GB 300x unit for the drive in a PIAF...

    Purple, backup, and install questions

Thanks for the info on Purple and the backup clarification. Believe me, I appreciate being in the position to have multiple options on backup! And please don't take my inquiry on the local build as a request for that feature. I was just curious to see if this could be done or if anyone had...

    Purple, backup, and install questions

    1) Are you seeing specific issues with purple or letting it run until you see problems? Purple = asterisk 1.8 + Freepbx 2.8 + centos 5.5 + PIAF goodies + other components (e.g. mysql). Each individual component is production ready so is it the combination that needs to be proven...

    Purple, backup, and install questions

Let me just say that the PIAF team is doing a great job (product, documentation, community, etc) and I appreciate all of the effort you guys put in. I have installed many Trixbox systems but now have moved on to PIAF and I'm really enjoying it. In the course of installing several PIAF...
