NO JOY Internal auto-answer will answer even if I'm on a call using another extension

Unfortunately, I'm on the latest firmware already, released in 2009. :-\ Maybe this is just a bug in the phone that wasn't ever fixed.

NO JOY Internal auto-answer will answer even if I'm on a call using another extension

There is the option for Skip/Force/Whisper, but changing those options don't seem to make a difference. By the way, I tested with another phone (a Grandstream GXP2160), and that behaves fine. On that phone, an incoming call doesn't interrupt the page.

NO JOY Internal auto-answer will answer even if I'm on a call using another extension

So.... I'm revisiting this problem almost four years after the fact. Now on FreePBX 13. I now have only a single extension on each phone (say 214), but the behavior is the same. If my Mitel 5224 is on a call and another extension dials my page group, the Mitel phone will put the...

TIPS Calls to ring group fails if one of the extensions is not registered

Here is the output of a failed ring group call: Running as user 'asterisk' Running under group 'asterisk' Connected to Asterisk 13.13.1 currently running on IncrediblePBX (pid = 20375) -- Executing [199@from-internal:1] Macro("PJSIP/219-0000000a", "user-callerid,") in new stack --...

TIPS Calls to ring group fails if one of the extensions is not registered

I'm having a funny issue with a ring group (199). It contains two extensions -- 201 and 214. If both of the extensions are registered and I dial 199 from a third phone, all is good. The problem is if either of those extensions are offline or not registered, nothing happens when I dial 199...

TRY THIS Backing up and restoring to a different system

I'm moving from a cloud-based Incredible PBX 12.0.74 system to a locally-hosted one (mostly for troubleshooting purposes). Anyway, I was wondering if there is an easy way to clone/copy my installation or my settings from one box to another? Can I just use the Backup & Restore option in...

TRY THIS One-way choppy voice on one extension. Connection seems OK. What next?

Update... So unfortunately I've noticed this on some internal intercom calls! I happened to be watching a ping to Google while somebody did an internal page. Their voice was choppy, yet the ping looked good. :( So I guess it doesn't look like the problem is internal (before hitting my trunk)...

TRY THIS One-way choppy voice on one extension. Connection seems OK. What next?

Great, I'll give it a whack. I also started using CallCentric for my outbound calls, so I'm going to see if the behavior is any different on inbound vs outbound calls.

TRY THIS One-way choppy voice on one extension. Connection seems OK. What next?

Not that I know of. Is a jitter buffer something that would be enabled in the phone's settings? Or is it on the FreePBX side? I don't think I've ever messed with that... at least not intentionally. :-)

TRY THIS One-way choppy voice on one extension. Connection seems OK. What next?

It started with a Mitel 5224, and then it appears to be continuing with a Grandstream GXP-2160.

TRY THIS One-way choppy voice on one extension. Connection seems OK. What next?

I'm not sure why 4.4, but it seems to be what I am consistently getting.

TRY THIS One-way choppy voice on one extension. Connection seems OK. What next?

Hmm, that's a good really point, @briankelly63. I suppose one way to test is to use Anveo Direct for all outbound calls and see if the problem disappears. I'm working to get Wireshark set up. I tested it between my desktop and laptop with a soft phone. Let's say I get a Wireshark trace of...

TRY THIS One-way choppy voice on one extension. Connection seems OK. What next?

This is a problem that has had me stumped for months! Here's the lowdown: One user says that frequently, people she speaks with will say her voice is cutting out. She never has an issue hearing them. Here's what I've tried: Swapping phones Giving her a different extension number Using a...

RECOMMENDATIONS Recommend a phone to replace Mitel 5224

That sounds really great. Is there a way to have the hold button on the GXP-2160 automatically place a call into a parking lot? One feature we've always missed from our old key system is the ability to easily place a line on a "global" hold, where anybody can see it and pick it up.

RECOMMENDATIONS Recommend a phone to replace Mitel 5224

I'm revisiting this again. The Grandstream 2160 phones look pretty appealing. Does anybody have any positive or negative experience with them?

NO JOY Extensions can't connect after server reboot

I have my Incredible PBX 13-12.2 server hosted through Vultr.com, and ever since I rebooted the server yesterday none of my extensions can connect. I can access the FreePBX control panel and I can ping my server's IP, so I don't think my IP address is being banned. I also tried temporarily...

TIPS Incoming calls go to voicemail and "res_agi.c: Failed to fork(): Cannot allocate memory" error

Thank you for the great advice, billsimon! Would you be able to give me some direction on how to figure out whether any needless daemons are running? Here are what might be a couple of handy screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/lndx2 The first one shows the memory usage when I had the problem...

TIPS Incoming calls go to voicemail and "res_agi.c: Failed to fork(): Cannot allocate memory" error

SUGGESTIONS Ring groups go directly to voicemail, temporarily solved by rebooting FreePBX

@MacNix - did you ever solve this problem? I think I'm having the issue again on a new server, and it's not related to Gmail this time.

RECOMMENDATIONS Recommend a phone to replace Mitel 5224

I'm looking for recommendations on phones to replace our Mitel 5224s. I would like something with 16-20+ programmable buttons for one-touch intercom or paging and BLF. Beyond that, I'm just looking for something that's inexpensive. These Mitels were very inexpensive used (maybe $20-$30...
