QUESTION Which auto dialer would you recommend?

I'm guessing a moderator removed the Spam post, making the above post confusing.

FYI Canada (QC) e911 - is there a way to bypass Public safety answering point?

But, calling on an admin line will not get them location at all, just CID. Depending on their ALI provider (probably Bell Canada in that region), they might be able to do a manual dip to get location, which may or may not be correct, depending on the database. So in the silent call scenario on...

FYI Canada (QC) e911 - is there a way to bypass Public safety answering point?

The reason for using the intermediate PSAP in Canada now is because a family from Calgary? moved to Toronto? but didn't update their address with their VoIP provider. They needed 911 one day, address was not confirmed, EMS was dispatched, but went to their old address 3000KM away. Their son...

FYI Canada (QC) e911 - is there a way to bypass Public safety answering point?

Did you miss the point of waiting hours in the non-emergency queue? That's the dumbest thing I've ever read. But, you can look up your jurisdiction, if they publish such a number. For instance, City of Ottawa is 800-249-0911.

FYI Canada (QC) e911 - is there a way to bypass Public safety answering point?

You will never find a "number" that comes in to a PSAP (as an emergency), such things do not exist. 911 ingress does not work the same as your conventional business/home POTS lines. Of course, there are published non-emergency numbers for most/some jurisdictions, but I wouldn't want to be on...

FYI Canada (QC) e911 - is there a way to bypass Public safety answering point?

Correct. Canada routes to a region PSAP 1st, then transferred to the local PSAP. I've done work in 2 of the regional centres, 1 was quite large, the other housed 4 operators covering an area of a few 100,000 in population. EDIT: this is only for Nomadic VoIP. Fixed VoIP, cell & landline...

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

After using bascul to move services to Slave, dsdb0 is not mounted on either sever. Mounting /vpbx_data on Slave and restarting Asterisk makes things work on Slave, but obviously this is not the solution. This obviously needs some more time baking. Will re-visit next week, I see changes...

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

Before HA install.... And after: So for the DRBD fans, is the fact there is no MOUNTPOINT for drbd0 on the Slave the problem? EDIT: drbd does NOT mount on both servers at the same time. So this is not my issue (currently).

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

Another small note, the How-To suggests: So I originally created dual NIC servers with the DRBD interfaces on their on segregated network, but the HA script doesn't take that in to consideration. Just say'in....

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

I think I've narrowed it down to either my OS configuration, or a problem in the HA script. But, in the end, nothing is sync'ing to the Secondary (as far as I can tell), and if I shut down the Primary, the Secondary will then sync back the empty folder, thus wiping out the configuration. I'm...

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

I removed the 127.0.1.1 line that's created by the install from the hosts file, and that has resolved the parsing in the bascul command. But it still doesn't work. Needs a little more time in the oven I guess. Both servers now show this:

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

I've tried the new version and am unable to make it work. It seems the slave server never gets resources assigned to it, and their 'bascul' script cannot find the peer server, it instead thinks the IP is ], which is likely a parsing problem in their script. At least I can duplicate the results.

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

Extension voicemail options are not sync'd between servers. That explains why, yesterday, voicemail worked on 1 server, and not the other. Any changes you make on an extension related to voicemail, you need to duplicate on the other.

    Don't forget, you'd also need: sync { default.rsyncssh, source = "/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/vitalpbx-voicemail", host = "192.168.12.224", targetdir = "/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/vitalpbx-voicemail", rsync = {...

Looks like MWI is the only glitch (so far). If a msg is left on A, switches to B, msg retrieved and deleted the lamp does not go off. Probably because the MWI subscription is for A, is my guess.

    I added this to /etc/lsyncd/lsyncd.conf.lua sync { default.rsyncssh, source = "/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/vitalpbx-voicemail", host = "192.168.12.225", targetdir = "/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/vitalpbx-voicemail"...

So in theory, if they added the above noted directory to lsyncd, it "should" work?

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

Sure enough, digging deeper I don't see "/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail" in the lsyncd config, so that explains the non replication of voicemail. I'm sure there's more to it then just sync'ing the files though, there's probably a database component to it too, I'd think.

NEW VitalPBX HA Tips & Tricks

Well, it appears voicemail is NOT replicated between servers. At least it isn't for me on the 1 extension I have created. Maybe it's an oversight for v4, maybe it's design intent, I don't know. But the technical detail (aside from analyzing their install script) is quite lacking. If HA...
