    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

I am not sure but the way it is worded it appears you can get a 2nd DID on the same account. That is, both numbers will ring your obi, piaf, pap2 etc but not a separate box or account. However the wording is not clear and they would need to clarify.

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

Keeping with Google Voice and then forwarding to another provider (Obivoice, voip.ms etc) seems to be a good solution. I cannot imagine Google shutting down and not allowing users the option to port out a number you ported into GV. With GV I can choose any other DID provider while the number...

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

Was just curious. I have had my home number for 20 plus years and though it would not be the end of the world I would prefer not to lose it. Your case is different. Plus with GV I can get texts to my number. Actual story... Just this weekend I was pleased to hear from an old high school friend...

    TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

Is there a reason why you ported your Google Voice (GV) number? Why not just add the ObiVoice (OV) number as a ring destination in GV? And then spoof your outgoing caller id. I have been with GV from very early days (soon after Grand Central started). As soon as GV allowed you to port in a...

    Cannot issue amportal restart

Sometimes it is easy to forget that RAID is more about fault tolerance and not 'backups'. You still need to backup regularly and have a backup policy. If software becomes corrupt , deleted or a virus hits etc... You will have great redundancy on your RAID drives but corrupt or missing files...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT PIAF + Clonezilla + Diff. Hardware = Kernel Panic?

Cloning the operating system drive will only work seamlessly to replace the hard drive in the Same (or very similar) system. Obviously great to move the operating system to a bigger drive, if the cloning software supports it... Or to replace a failed drive. Trying to move to a different...

    AWAITING FEEDBACK Install PIAF remotely?

If there is a way to get the installation started you can setup a pxelinux bootup/install. The setup will look to a remote server for the piaf files... This is a Centos procedure... I had network install working for testing at one point... You can also modify the configs to have Centos send the...

real world feedback on pfsense etc appreciated

pfsense is very powerful and works great with piaf. I use with piaf and phones inside behind the firewall and remote phones from outside the firewall... Phones have built in OpenVPN so connection is seamless without opening ports. Phones's openVPN connects to pfsense's OpenVPN server and then...

FYI FollowMe to Cell with CallerID

Ok I narrowed it down to a bug or "feature". I have Follow me on extension 701 to simultaneously ring my cell phone. If I call from extension 702 to 701 it works fine, both 701 and my cell phone rings. If I place an inbound call from outside with the Inbound Route set to a Ring Group with all...

FYI FollowMe to Cell with CallerID

I tried different did's. It is not the did. If you look at the log for calls from the internal you can see the external call to the cell being setup. It does not setup an outgoing call for an external call incoming to the trunk. Like your prior experience, I am leaning to a problem with the...

FYI FollowMe to Cell with CallerID

In my troubleshooting I thought as much... So I placed multiple simultaneous external calls ... Which I am able to do without problems from extensions.

FYI FollowMe to Cell with CallerID

The 3 caller id solutions look great but in my case I prefer the caller id on the follow me calls to be the trunk's caller id. I like to know when my cell phone rings if it is a personal or business call so I can answer appropriately. My bluetooth headset announces the caller id as Acme...

The log is attached. Before the line breaks is an internal extension call. After is what happens when an outside calls comes in. Thanks. Bobby

TUTORIAL Create a PIAF2 Thumb Drive

Ward, This worked perfectly for me with an Acer Revo. Great work by Alex Agranov in expanding Unetbootin. Thanks Hyksos. I have been so busy I could not find the time to experiment with the usb install for Centos 6. Couple of notes. Be sure to remove the usb thumb drive after Centos install...

Install PIAF from USB Flash Drive

Daniel, It has been a while since I visited this. As Ward pointed out it was developed and tested for a generic install. However if you would like to try it for a raid install... These are the steps to try. During the install of CentOs, the install routine reads the ks*.cfg files for...

Install PIAF from USB Flash Drive

I am not sure how to solve your problem. I did most of the testing on the Acer Revo. Yes, the Centos folder should be empty. If the keyboard is not working, it suggests some type of compatibility issue with Centos and your box or maybe the flash drive. Sorry, I cannot offer more help but...
