    VOIP.MS - Initial Observations (positive)

Just wanted to chime in on http://voip.ms . I setup a trunk with them on a multi-tenant PBXiaF box. The box aleady has Zap and Vitelity trunks. Setup was smooth on their site and configuration of the DID was smooth on my (server) end. After about a week I realized I had lost the password I...

    TIPS Nortel IP 1535 $27.95

teardown Just ordered 4. Anybody done a tear-down on one of these yet? The electronics nerd in me wants to see how the camera is tied in as well the wlan interface, etc. I'm dreaming of a wireless IP camera (security)/ door-phone hack. Would be cool if somebody figured out the firmware...

problem with streaming audio for music on hold

What is the url(s) you are trying to stream? These aren't windows media streams are they?

    Music on Hold

sorry As I recall it was like black magic getting mpg123 streaming, which I am.. I can't help with mplayer. Someone else may be able to. You may suggest to the customer a different station (that uses mpeg streams). Or, if the station is local to the customer consider setting up a radio and...

    Music on Hold

asf The link to media at the radio station only provides an ASF (windows, not mpeg) stream. mpg123 (the default mp3 player/streamer) won't work with these. apparently people have had luck with mplayer as seen here

Can PIAF/Asterisk place a call to multiple phone numbers at the same time?

Have you done all the article said, like using phpAdmin to setup call data in the table? Seen debug of the app? Seen what happens when it's run in /var/log/asterisk/full ? Permissions are all correct? I have no need to blast messages so haven't set this up. Someone else may be helpful here.

Can PIAF/Asterisk place a call to multiple phone numbers at the same time?

I believe Edisoninfo meant to point you to the TeleYapper4 article. On a side note, another easy way (if you're comfortable on the command line) to glean outgoing trunk info from your box is to run: grep OUT_ /etc/asterisk/extensions_additional.conf | grep -v exten

want only inbound, for IVR-app development

I'd go the PiaF/Vitelity route if I were you seeing as you really don't have anything to lose. You could even run it in a VM if that's your liking (and since it's for dev). From what you say, you'll also be saving 46$/month. Since PiaF is built on top of CentOS 5 with MySQL and PHP installed...

New Aastra XML scripts 2.2.0 for PIAF

@Fishfilet: Why is there a space between $$SIPUSERNAME$$ and the &pin=12345678 ? Was this copy and pasted or maybe the forum?

Aastra 57i - What to do?

set gain via config file Configuration Parameters Parameter – handsfree tx gain Configuration Files aastra.cfg, <mac>.cfg Description: This is the increased (+db) or decreased (-db) amount of signal transmitted from the base microphone to the far-end party. The amount of Tx gain in the IP...

    Park outbound calls

hold is local If you place a call on hold locally (at your desk), your phone should indicate this by flashing the line that is on hold. At least this is the behavior I'm used to. To pickup the locally held call, just press the line button w/ the flashing light next to it.

    Dialing phonenumber + extension

D() You would have to craft a custom dialplan that would parse out the extension from the number (string).. then use the D() flag in the DIAL() command.. the D () flag sends DTMF after the number is dialed but before the call is bridged. Dial(Zap/0,2065551212,D(wwww1234)) (each 'w' represents...

    Recommendations, 32 bit or 64? Ast 1.6 or 1.4?

I haven't read the positives of having 64 over 32 bit. Assume it helps when your really planning on pushing concurrent active channels to the edge. As for 1.6 over 1.4 it's been reported in this thread that (some) NV apps have ported without an issue. You would see a bennefit with chan_mobile...

    SUGGESTIONS Cisco 7970 Treasure Trove

@Granny Is your config file in a sub-folder of /tftpboot called scratchpad? If so, why? Maybe that's causing the parse error? All my configs (SIP/SCCP) for my Cisco's are in /tftpboot

    US Caller ID Not working.

Since CallerID (in the USA) is primarily passed between the first and second ring you may need to add a delay before the ZAP channel(s) pick up. From FreePBX admin go to 'Inbound Routes' and find the inbound route(s) for your ZAP line(s). Scroll down under 'Options' and find 'Pause Before...

    Weird Happenings

It was suggested that you upgrade your phone to the latest firmware (2.5). Did you do that? If YES and since you can replicate the issue it may be a good idea to raise the attention (PM) the user 'aastra1' on this forum to this thread.

How to allow a user to place a bookmark in an audio file

Sorry, can't really help more. I would consider digging into some existing AGI scripts and dialplan functionality (again, google is your friend). My guess would be to do some MySQL magic and query the CDR with the length of the last call of the user, save that data in your custom table and pull...

How to allow a user to place a bookmark in an audio file

ControlPlayback () ControlPlayback is a core * application when called from an (your) AGI script, with correct parameters (ie, a timestamp saved when your caller hungup) , should serve the intended purpose. As per [via google]: http://bit.ly/stfg

Use CNAM from provider unless number is in Asteridex

@Jeff: where is this code posted? I was just thinking of tackling the same issue as I've recently installed a box with an ATA and the Qwest provided CNAM is lacking, at best. I'd _much_ rather provide asteridex/internet provifed info _if_ the POTS data is generic enough (aka matches 'CELLULAR...
