    TIPS Anyone know NEC DSX

Thank you for trying. I figured some things out. Turns out this thing has an 8 port voicemail. While looking on another forum, I saw something about a setup using delayed ringing. Bingo! Just need to set the 'non-front-office' phones to delay ring. This gets me all fixed up.

    TIPS Anyone know NEC DSX

Thanks for the reply. I've gotten the software already and have the majority of it programmed. What we want: Lines In (POTS) ---> Day/Night Day - Ring group of phones in the Front Office (Using Key Ring for this). After four rings, it rings the rest of the phones in the company. If no...

    TIPS Anyone know NEC DSX

It's been a long time since I've been around here. A new job a couple years ago has consumed my time and abilities. The new employer has an NEC DSX phone system. It does well for what we need it to but I've been tasked with making some programming changes. It is no where near as easy as the...

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT Vitelity Issues

What a load of crap. http://tnid.us/ Go there and look it up yourself. Then call them back and tell them you know the carrier is 'xyz' and since you have been having issues with them, you want to port it to '123'. I'd be curious to know who it is. Like I said before, we have been pretty rock...

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT Vitelity Issues

Another thing you can do is change the underlying carrier. Ours used to be XO and we had issues all the time. We ported to Level 3 (all the while staying with Vitelity) and haven't had a problem since. Find out from Vitelity who your DID's underlying carrier is. -Greg

Haha... nah. I'm in Spokane, WA which is ~300 miles. We use Comcast which ties direct to Seattle, so that is probably a major factor. -Greg

TRY THIS make outbound dial, once answered play message

Would Teleyapper work in this case? I've never used it but I thought that it was capable of doing something like this. -Greg

SOLVED "Peer 'xx' is now Lagged" messages

I use the seattle.voip.ms account, but I do IP authentication. I don't have time today, but if I get time next week, I can switch it to registration to see what happens. -Greg

Can't edit trunks (fatal sql error) after upgrading to the latest version

I can confirm that freepbx 2.10 is out of rc stage and is now 2.10.0.0 2.10 is really growing on me though I did have it up on a test system for nearly two months before moving to live status. Our 'old' box remains right there at the ready in case something bad happens. -Greg

    GOOD NEWS Faxed through DISA

Interesting tidbit. I have DISA setup for my parents as they don't use long distance enough to justify paying extra for it. I just have them run it through my work's PBX. Well, they needed to fax something to a long distance number. They have an older HP all in one... that doesn't have a...

SOLVED "Peer 'xx' is now Lagged" messages

Absolutely about the box open to the internet. Only open it to those you trust (whitelist). My point of view is it is more efficient with IP authentication. Less bandwidth being used (for the constant registration updates - admittedly, it is an insignificant amount), and no issues with...

SOLVED "Peer 'xx' is now Lagged" messages

Just wondering... why register? If you are setup with static IPs, why not use static IP authentication? I too use tomato and just port forward 5060 and 10000-10250 (rtp) to the PIAF server. I have voip.ms's (and vitelity's) IP address in the source column (white listing) for security. Have been...

    Intermittant Park Reminder

Not very eloquent, but you could have the parking lot failover destination (I think that is an option) be a ring group. Have the ring group timeout after 3 seconds (enough time to get the 'ring'), and then have it's destination if no answer be the parking lot again. Kind of a poor workaround...

    DEAL DIY PIAF2 Server ~$200

Wow. Didn't take long to get that up and running! They really are great little boxes and no reason not to buy two and clone em so you have a quick and easy backup solution. I played with this yesterday. Booted up the backup (both are static IP'd with the same address) and unplugged the Cat5...
