FYI Failing Xivo 16.16 fresh install on either Vultr or Digital Ocean

Thanks Ward. I didn't realize I was on the bleeding edge with this one. In the interim I've installed the older "Incredible PBX ISO" on Vultr per your (as always) excellent guide: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=18923 and the phones are ringing again ;) Having watched the install run so many times...

FYI Failing Xivo 16.16 fresh install on either Vultr or Digital Ocean

Note, I never get prompted: > You will be prompted whether to activate about a dozen applications for Incredible PBX. though per http://nerdvittles.com/?p=20499 it seems I should be?

FYI Failing Xivo 16.16 fresh install on either Vultr or Digital Ocean

I've tried many times today to install on either VULTR or Digital Ocean. It invariable fails at the wizard.py stage, but if I trace back, the first error seems to be: Setting up xivo-manage-db (16.16~20161128.200619.29a566d) ... ... INSERT 0 1 ERROR: column "wazo" does not exist LINE 7: ...

    strange connection delay from phones

I recently upgraded from trixbox to pbxiaf - at the same time upgrading from asterisk 1.2 to 1.4. For endpoint config on the mostly polycom 320 phones, I simply copied over the existing trixbox config files (and copied and hand tweaked a couple of new ones for new phones). For the most part...

    Convert existing TrixBox to PiaF?

I'll join the chorus suggesting you start fresh and copy as many settings as you can rather than trying to convert a system in place. I just went through this and this was my basic approach: find/pay a friend to do most of the work (thanks Matt!) install the bulk extensions module to export...

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT Success Stories

Over the past few years, I've installed A@H, then TB. Getting on close to 10 boxes and 100 extensions by now. Mostly as a hobby. Several for small businesses and non-profits. Some by proxy with a friend of mine who does get paid for it. The time came recently to update a Via C7 install to...

    Realtek NIC RTL8168B/8111B not recognised

Note to others. On the board we were using, pbxiaf hung during install. Disabling the NIC in the bios allowed the install to complete, then installing the driver per this thread and re-enabling the bios nic did the trick.

Problems getting REMOTE Polycoms to register properly

Remote polycom fetching config with overrides Just this week I stepped someone through a remote polycom config (and then a 2nd, and another coming up next week). The first one took an hour (including 30 mins of reflashing the rom, filesystem etc) and the rest stepping them through menus...

New video phone offering from Grandstream

I've had a lot of luck with Polycom 320 phones as a step up from the GXP2000. The speaker phone is excellent. The headset mode is intuitive. And they're very stable. We don't use them as much more than phones (no BLF or on phone features) and they're great for that. Otoh, I have another install...

    Hacking Attempts?

We had an interesting hack attempt a week or so ago. First there was an attempted registration for all extensions from 100 through to 9000 or so. Then, for all the extensions that did exist (about 40 in all in the 200 range), there was a systematic attempt to register with each one in turn. The...

    Fax option like Elastix

Ditto. Had good luck with trustfax.com We still send faxes via the asterisk box and an old-school ATA adapter that I found cheap on ebay. It was a pain to configure but is rock solid.

    Vitelity?

I hate to be a naysayer in this plethora of praise, but I've had mixed (though never bad) experiences with Vitelity. In San Diego the service has been excellent with no problems (tho it can sometimes take > 7 days to get a did when they're out of stock). However, for a client in San Francisco...

Source tree, bug tracking and docs?

Ward, firstly many thanks for taking this on, and, again, for all the effort that has gone into your blog/site over the past couple of years. Any thoughts on making the build tree / source tree available to all? (Read only until 'blessed'). One of the frustrations with many opensource...

Asterisk Channel Driver to allow Bluetooth Mobile Phones to be used as FXO device

A second vote for this (can I vote more than once ;-) ) Everyone else, this makes it possible, amongst other things, to add another cell phone to a family plan and leave it near the Asterisk box with a bluetooth adapter plugged into it. Then you can forward calls to your (other) cell phone as...
