    yeah thats my issue, very few if any reviews of it, just lots of links to stores that sell them. I did see that a few folx here have used them in the past. Im open to other options in the SMB market. If all else fails I will just go with a 3com product.

    doc, keep it simple. a managed switch is overkill for you needs (i think). save the bucks on an un-managed one and spend it on a beefy UPS for your closet to keep your server and phones online during power bumps.

    Make sure the DTMF setting on the 286 is set to "via RTP (RFC2833)". I've had the best luck with it set this way. It works with the PiaF VM and external IVR's.
