    need upgrade advice

in my case also it is my family using it. shaky service per se is not of concern, of concern is the likely requirement of having to tweak the system each time google decides to change some parameter and breaks this PIAF arrangement. google voice is appealing because i can assign an unlimited...

    need upgrade advice

@atsak - thanks for sharing your experience with freepbx export and subsequent import. does sound like this should work - because almost all of the configuration changes that i have made, have been made through the freepbx interface. i wanted to ask one more side question - is it worth it to...

    need upgrade advice

upgrade PIAF? how and is it worth upgrading from a not-broken prior version? I am running an older version of PIAF. Image below will show the versions. Now I am tempted to use the new features in the new PIAF builds, like Google voice and skype integration. But I am concerned about the time it...

backing up a hosted PIAF install

I host a PIAF server and would like to backup. Ideally the backup should be such that the Freepbx upgrades that I have carried should also be backed up. Not just the extension and trunk and route settings etc. I suppose whole disk backup is not an option because I do not have a USB disk...

Right Sizing Hardware for Small Systems

Hi Joe, the AspireRevo (AspireRevo-AR1600-U910H - has 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 Processor) - does it match the machine you tested. Based on your description "single core Atom with 512Mb of RAM", I would think it does.

cheapest way to host a pbxinaflash server

it is a combo - only two extensions on the same LAN. the fall back VM option is there but the extensions stop working and that is too much hassle. as for server - i think the server went down after a power failure. the Internet might have gone down 2-3 times. and i think a few unexplained down...

cheapest way to host a pbxinaflash server

my needs are modest. i need about 4-5 DIDs, 4-8 extensions and 1-2 reliable outbound calling providers. i would like the extensions to be able to talk to each other for nearly free. lylix feels rather expensive to me at $35 a month. are there cheaper alternatives? --- for more...

the Everex m/c with PIAF latest build just went down abruptly

I think at least my issue on this mysterious "going down" of the system was as simple as 5 second long power failures. I changed the bios setting and the machine has not had failure as described above - although it did get restarted in a recent storm. i do not see a way of marking a thread...

gPC2 server in a garage. can i monitor temperature and anything else to do?

I agree with what you are saying about at least measuring the HDD temperature. given that this does not seem to be as easy, for now I have brought the PC back into the house... will try this again in a month's time when I hope to have some free time.
